Rochelle is up to 272 lbs. Looks like he has been taking the ND freshman weight training program seriously. Doesn't appear to be harboring any bad weight either...

For the IE crew who worry about the redshirt or not dilemma: Kelly has answered this. He has made it pretty clear that generally he will simply see who is best suited at the moment to get on the field and win a football game.

Kelly, from every quote I've heard, believes that there is no sense whatever in not putting your most winnable football team on the field "now". His philosophy is: why risk losing a game today for the possibility that you might win one in the future? Kelly loses no sleep over this. HE ACTUALLY BELIEVES IN "NEXT MAN IN".

When Kelly does not play somebody, it is because somewhere in the large set of variables which define playing winning football, Coach thinks that player is not ready, or at least not as ready as someone else. Some of us might want to disagree with his assessment [to our peril], but that is how he makes decisions, not worrying about redshirting.

"Let's get Mikey ... he likes it, he likes it!"

Hindsight can seem crystal clear. Foresight is tricky. It can be foggy and murky to the untrained and (possibly) uncorrected, discorrected or miscorrected eye.

Go with the "up close and personal" one that brung ya and has a proven track record.

I'll step away from the Recruiting Profiles thread now.

To Luckyluci---- We all have no idea if he will be as good as Nix or Tuitt. However, if you look at his picture I would definitely not put it past him. He looks "beast like Lynch to me" Nix didn't hit the field his true freshman year and Tuitt had little impact his true freshman year. Once again, be very careful predicting a recruits success or lack there of-----see James Aldridge, EJ Banks, Spencer Boyd, Luke Kuechly, and on and on and on.............................

Foresight, hindsight. the bigger question is foreskin. To clip or not to clip. I think someone famous said that...?

That's mom's last chance to get back at what got her in the first place! Back to recruiting, what is with the public bathroom pictures.

Now to echo Mike:

Kelly knows who more than anyone is ready.

Kelly knows you need bodies to play, to win. More bodies equal bigger wins.

Kelly strives to have 80 playable guys. Longo and Kelly know one of the best ways to reduce injuries and fatigue is to play more guys. Look at their numbers versus other successful coaches.

Kelly won't play a player if he is lost on the field. For example, in a press conference, Kelly stated that when he looked at tapes from early in Manti's freshman year, he looked lost.

Saw him at Eddy Street Commons last night, I think he was with Matuska?

Big dude, you can tell he's a freshman, though. Can't wait to see what Longo can do.

Isaac Rochell Crucial X-Factor Along Notre Dame Defensive Line:
247sports.com

“You’ll see him play every position, he’s playing all over the place,” Elston said. “Hopefully, he can handle that work volume. I think he can.”

Forty snaps per contest might be a reasonable target this season, especially against the stronger running teams.

“We’ll know after the first game, see how he handles it, but we’ll come up with a plan for him,” said Elston of Rochell's snap count. “I don’t know what those numbers will be right now, but I’m hoping it’s up in that area.”

Love seeing that but to Peat's defense he looked like he was late off the snap.. That was easy pickings for Isaac.

That's supposedly the #1 OT in the country getting sat down like a little boy. I understand what you're saying and don't disagree, he was definitely at a disadvantage coming off late, but anytime you make a guy of Peat's caliber look like a child, that says something, IMO.

I think Peat is a little overrated TBH tho. Very good...but not as good as some say yet.

Isaac straight tossed him haha. Great to see.

Not sure exactly what you meant here since it is worded kind of confusingly but I've heard multiple announcers this year saying Peat is the top OT in the country, draft grade-wise. Now, they could be wrong (most likely are and I don't agree with that ranking if he is indeed #1 ranked) but either way, he's one of the highest rated OT's in the country...and he got sat down.

I've also heard announcers say he is just a very highly rated OT...which I can agree with. Just doesn't seem like a #1 to me.

The point is, rumors of Rochell's great strength gains are confirmed!

And he's quick, too!

Our whole d-line played great. Regardless of whether Peat is the best, that line is stacked with former 5*'s and future NFLers with Peat, Garnett and Murphy. We got 4 sacks and constant pressure while holding them to a yard and a half per carry. Felt we dominated them all game.
