Anyone Watching "Walking Dead" on AMC?

Am I the only one who would like to see the crew attempt to begin reestablishing some civilization? I hope they fast-forward a year or 18 months and we've seen them clear out the prison entirely, get some crops going, whatever, and then the next plot twist.

I just felt like Darabont's first season had them struggle to live their lives, whereas now it's just a pathetic ABC-style drama. The characters are taking turns going from worried but collected to horribly ignorant in the process of an episode. It's silly.

This is an excellent point, Buster! I think the experiment failed of pitting one group against the other, because modern weaponry is so lethal. You cannot really have a protracted war. And with the problems with Zombie biology, (cadavers rot), and bodies without metabolism are cadavers, there has to be a smaller zombie force in the future. Most people have died from the looks of it. So other challenges need to be established, like zombie fish or something . . . Just kidding. One of the challenges could be to show the difficulties maintaining life. The point I was trying to make earlier is when you look at the number of Marines paid to transport ordinance, it outnumbers those that deliver ordinance. This is never considered in any film or TV show, except a couple about the Ia Drang Valley, Bataan, Guadalcanal, and maybe Bastogne.

Im shocked that people are trying to compare GoT and the walking dead. I like the walking dead but i can name a few shows that are much better.

1. Breaking bad ( best show ever)
2. Board walk empire
3. The killing
4. Game of Thrones

I haven't watched the Game of Throwns yet, namely because i'm not a raging dork. But the other three are not as good as the Walking Dead in my opinion. Especially Breaking Bad. I have tried to watch that show a bunch of times (even the first couple episodes) and it just doesn't do anything for me.

Bro... I'm not a dork either. But GoT is incredible. Just give it a shot and you'll love it. Did we mention it has boobs? Lots... and lots of boobs?

Breaking Bad and Dexter are my two favorite shows of all time. Just like you Wooly, I watched probably 4 episodes of Breaking Bad and quit it for a year. Came back because I needed a new netflix show, stuck with it, and it's absolutely great.

As far as non-comedies, IMO, it's Dexter/Breaking bad.... and then everything else. I'd give Breaking Bad a slight edge over Dexter. I highly suggest sticking with it.

I've never been into the fantasy genre either and for this reason skipped the first season. After watching previews for the 2nd season I decided to give it a shot and watched 10 straight hours of season one. I was hooked. I wish I was in your position and could watch three straight seasons uninterrupted.

If you need any extra motivation, and want to see lots and lots of boobs, google 'game of thrones sex scene compilation'.

I dig Dexter for sure! I've watched every episode. Breaking Bad just didn't appeal to me, but I see why it may for others.
