I think we need a safety. If we don't take one, that will be one safety over two years and that's not good. Yes, we're loaded at safety now but in two years that will not be the case.

I think Bulter will end up at safety

Edit: I see you guys discussed this after I started typing

You could be right. I was just gazing over his profile to find if there was a quote from the staff but didn't see any. I DID see that the most recent posts in Butler's thread are about an MRI. Did anyone hear how that came out? Since there was no subsequent news I assume all is well. He certainly has the body to grow into a safety, but he's also perfect for corner, IMO. He's a great pick up.

Hood was a great pick up and it showed me that ND is not only building depth, but that quality depth that Championship teams have. Read USC of a few years ago and of course, that grey elephant team.

WR seems like such a hit or miss position. ND has recruited several but not many seem to stick (starter not transfer). What's up with that?

Although I like what they have at WR. Onawalalaulu and Robinson look good for freshman and Brown/Daniels are seemingly solid.

#NotreDame recruiting notes today talks WR, DT, playmakers and QB: Notre Dame Recruiting Notes 4/29 via @247Sports #ND #Irish

Wiltfong did say that he still really likes where we stand with Starks, even after the Hood commitment. This could be another thunder/lightning year at RB. (Wiltfong made no predictions, but, reading between the lines, I might be so bold as to predict that Starks will be next.)

Also noteworthy: Steve said that we are still a serious player for Juju Smith. I like hearing that. Great C.J. Prosise-type athlete (but with more ratings love). Get him!

I still have a gut feeling it's going to be Geno Smith...possibly Brian Poole.

In all seriousness I think it's Nelson also.

Remember that Fuller and Hunter were considered the better prospects!

Yeah, Fuller supposedly tore up summer camps after all of the ratings were out. I think he got a small bump in the ratings, but he was being compared to the 4/5 star WR that signed with Alabama. Some were saying he was as good/better than the Bama guy. Hunter is my pick for 'sleeper'. Yes, he's a 4-star, but he's a low 4-star and I think his tape is electric.

On Fuller:

"You'd be hard pressed to find a wide receiver who had a better all-star season than Fuller," Friedman said. "He drew rave reviews from all of the coaches at the Semper Fi All-American Bowl for good reason. Fuller caught almost everything thrown his way and displayed great route-running and change-of-direction abilities. "

#NotreDame recruiting notes today includes touted quarterbacks Kyle Allen & David Cornwell: Notre Dame Recruiting Notes 4/30 via @247Sports #Irish #ND

Allen stuff is pretty much what has been posted already, their coach says they he and Andrews should be poker players for how they keep things close to the vest. A member of the staff is also watching Cornwell throw today. He is the 5 :s: QB in Norman.

If you are guessing, that would be a very nice pick-up! My guess would be Nelson, Bars, then after that maybe somebody like Holmes or the other Nelson from IA. I don't have a feel on him either way, just seems like a very intriguing prospect! After that maybe in the summer time we pull Andrews if we can wow his homie Allen? All in all should be a very fun summer to follow recruiting!

The same ESPN who says scUM leads for Corey Holmes? Yeah, I wouldn't worry too much about what they have to say, especially early on.
