I'll say it: The day we get a kid out of Auburn, AL that Auburn or Alabama want...

Looks like a better Deon Hollins. The speed of their first step is very similar

First off: Love that offer list.

Second: What's the story on him? I see the profile but nothing linking him other then title saying offer.

He already has a relationship with coaches from Auburn and Alabama from last year's Reuben Foster battle (same high school). Playing with Foster could be a draw for Bama, but obviously Auburn is considered the leader for the same reasons Foster was initially an Auburn "lock."

Bump.

Nothing new on Thomas. He likes ND, will visit, wants to take all of his visits, and won't make a decision until after his season.

Malone will take all of his officials and more unofficials. Georgia is the only official he knows right now. ND is in the mix but he can't say where because he doesn't know. He likes the offense we run and Alford.

Rashaan Evans wants the staff to call him more to build a relationship. He says he can tell the ND is going places and he knows a few recruits who are looking at ND hard (he is an Alabama kid so I would like to know who these recruits are). He is wide open right now and he top 5 of UGA, UCLA, Tennessee, FSU, and Auburn is "temporary". Scheme and coach relationships are important in his recruitment.

We have cooled on Dixon. The staff has not been in much contact with him lately. He wanted to visit while at the Rivals 100 in Chicago but couldn't because of the rules. He hasn't eliminated ND but he doesn't have any plans to visit right now.

Is this legit interest or is he just trying to get into the recruiting game and rile up a fan base?

I don't think he is trying to rile up a fan base, he doesn't hear much from ND and said he would like to hear more. Who wouldn't want to hear from Notre Dame?

He'd be a great DOG

I'd love to get more involved in the south. Really curious to know who these other recruits who are looking at ND hard are that he's mentioning.

I was thinking Cat, but honestly, these positions won't be too different in the near future.

any idea how this kid does academically? would he be a ND fit?

Honestly, after living in Alabama and Louisiana for the past 17 years, I honestly can say less than 5% of the recruits would honestly pass admissions. The schooling in LA and Alabama is just not academically strong. Remember, it is not just your GPA and test scoring but the core required classes that will prevent a lot of players from getting in.

Traditionally, ND has a very low record of Alabama and Louisiana athletes. We had a 3 star Alabama LB a few years ago that never got off the pine but other than that, I cant remember a single player. LSU and Bama fans will say because they all want to go to their home state school but no rational person would believe that, especially with the lack of opportunity that a LSU/BAMA diploma provides in any state other than Louisiana or Alabama. I just really believe the core requirements arent there.

Florida and GA will be good recruiting states for ND. AL,LA, and SC will not due to the academics. I think we are seeing a pretty good example of SC academics with Golson and his ability to academically survive at ND now.

Southern, the only former player from Alabama I can name off the top of my head is Justin Tuck.

I am sure he was just mentioning that he would like to hear more from ND because he was talking to an ND reporter.

Auburn sent 7 coaches and Alabama 5 to Evans' grandfather's birthday party last night.
