If the offense opens up and BK goes more consistently with 3 and 4 wide, there will be plenty of reps to go around.

I think that depends on Golson though, and the development of the RB's.

He and Davonte were literally always together from what I could tell. The depth chart was also probably a factor. Not surprised.

This is exactly why you never look at the depth chart to pick a school.

Ok, now this is getting ridiculous. What is going on? Not nearly as big a loss as Neal, but thought he would contribute this year.

Sad to see him go, but this stuff happens. When you recruit guys to whom football is important, they may not want to stick around if they don't see a clear path to the field. I wish Justin the best, but I'm not going to lose sleep over his departure.

Do any of you guys that are flipping out follow college football beyond ND? Transferring is just part of the modern CFB culture. Going to have to learn to live with it.

#82 is a cursed number now after Welch's injury and Ferguson's transfer

I was never really high on JF. Not saying I'm glad to see him go, but in the grand scheme of things this one hurts the least so far.

Wow, 2 wr transfers in less than 24 hours...

Who would have thought that Chris Brown, the lowest rated out of the three wr's we signed in the 2012 class, would be the one to stick around.

SO, I assume we'll take 4 or maybe even 5 wide receivers in the upcoming class then

Don't really care about this. Never liked his film and he was third team. Neal hurts though.

The 2012 recruiting class is a nutter joke. If you went back and re-ranked it, it would probably be in the 50s.

And not to sound like a broken record, but this is where oversigning helps you. We're effectively playing with 81 scholarships this year now... not oversigning is equivalent to sanctioning yourself.

Justified or not, BK got some damage control to do.

How so? Who does he need the damage control for? Who is upset? If you're going to say what someone else needs to do, you should give some indication that you know what the hell you're talking about.

Transfers are not necessarily bad. Of all the transfers over the last few years the only one who did anything on the field was Lynch. If we saw all these transfers going on at Alabama we would be accusing Saban of forcing kids out.

Stockton and Tausch are how you get to "effectively 81"... both are kids that would not be on scholarship right now if we had recruits coming in needing the spots.

Wow. Three transfers in March. Crazy.

But it's like BK says ... if you are having guys transfer out, it often means that your program is in good shape, because there is depth and competition for playing time at every position. That logic probably doesn't apply to Davonte--special circumstances there--but it probably does apply to Gunner and Justin

I was definitely looking forward to seeing if Ferguson could play a role as a possession receiver this fall, but you gotta do what you gotta do. Best of luck, Justin.
