I think there is some talk about joining the Catholic league for a one-year fling before going ACC as well. I hope Jack has it figured out.

A lot of our rivals in conference sports are leaving. Most of the current basketball teams in the big east won't be around. Let's get out of there no need to be on a sinking ship any longer than we need to.

The Catholic League is the new Big East as I understand it. What's left, I don't know what it will be called. Either way, I hope Jack is working on the early exit plan.

I just can't wait to see ND play GaTech under the lights in downtown Atlanta again, or at Clemson, FSU or Miami.

“@ChiTribHamilton: Did Mike Brey take this as last regular season game for #NotreDame before ACC next year? "Yes," the Irish coach said.”

“@ChiTribHamilton: #NotreDame coach Mike Brey: "Nobody’s told me what it’s going to entail, but I’m fully expecting to play in the ACC."”

“@ChiTribHamilton: #NotreDame HC Mike Brey: "I'd love to see our program get to Saturday night (at Big East tournament) before we head to Tobacco Road."”

I was at the ND-GT game in 2006. It was great. The first and only time I have ever been to a ND game.

With everything moving to ACC next year (if basketball is going that means all sports are going, right?) does that accelerate us incorporating 5 ACC opponents or is football set in stone?

Article doesn't mention anything besides basketball, I'm guessing its just basketball for next year, at the cost of a fee, and the presser will probably clear up anything.

I still think if basketball is moving all sports are moving. Why wouldn't all sports go? Deal on table was for early exit for $2.5 mil not "you can moveone sport out for 2.5" so it seems counterintuitive that we'd keep everyone else lagging behind a year. I guess we'll know in a few hours.

I read that the 2013 ACC Basketball schedule had not yet been done which would allow ND to be factored into it. No mention of other sports schedules.

I really never understood staying for another year in the first place.

It's like giving a two week notice at a job, it's polite but yet for those two weeks everything is awkward.
