Exactly! Sounds like this kid is grounded and thought things through. Not because ND is in the lead, because he clarified his selection, and provided light on the choice, and continued on the track he was headed in the absence of something to change his original thinking.
The fact that the gap narrowed, but he is continuing his own course is an indication that he has a level view, and a good thing IMO!

Not trying to be Mr. Negative, but what are the chances Hood built up ND in his head so much that when he got there it wasn't what he expected? That could explain his "meh" feelings.
It is weird though, because like you said, most kids love it even if they're not that interested. This brings me back to LAX's worry: What is UM doing that ND is not to "blow away" these recruits on their visits?

Not getting overly excited is a good thing in a running back. We want someone who is confident, cool, and calm under pressure, not someone that is so excited they can't hold onto the football when they get into the game. EH's comment could very well mean that Notre Dame was exactly as he expected it to be. There's a reason he named us his leader.
