Yeah I mean the things he is deficient in now (technique, footwork) can easily be coached up. The things that he is not deficient in, the things I am drooling over, simply can not be taught.

bingo...he reminds of elmer at the end of his junior year physically. sky is the limit here without a doubt.

I hope Coach Elliot is up for the task while he recovers from the transplant. This kid would be a terror on the line.

I have absolutely nothing to base this on, but I think it comes down to ND vs. Oklahoma for him with ND winning.

No joke. This kid is massive. Imagine if his head matched his body... he would look even bigger!

I'm sure they wouldn't force Elliot back on the trail unless he was good to go.

Safe to say I will bet he comes to the ND/OK game for his official.....and commits on the spot.

247 is now projecting him at Guard instead of Tackle.

Here is a little blurb on his Under Armour Combine performace from a 247 Freebie
Under Armour All-America Combine Report

The offensive line prospect everyone in attendance was waiting to see was Braden Smith (Olathe, Kan./South). Well Smith checked just as expected at 6-foot-6 ¼ and 285-pounds. The uber-flexible Smith tested pretty well too clocking a 5.12 40, 4.65 pro-agility shuttle and 35 1/2 –inch vertical. Smith, who has shorter arms than ideally are desired at tackle, threw up a combine best 39 reps of 185-pounds on the bench press. In one-on-one’s, Smith struggled a bit in space on the edge. Whether he plays guard, which is where we project him, or tackle, he will be flat back road-grater in the run game with the ability to pull. Smith has verbal offers from nearly every top program in the country.

I truly hope we take 5 OL in this cycle (although we likely only take 4)... seems like we're in solid position so many elite guys that's it's entirely plausible that we end up with Smith, McDermott, Cole, and Gibbons if we wanted.

you know it seems this way almost every year at the beginning...i hope so that it is the truth this year...i remember looking back at some of the recruits that had us in top 3 and very early favorites and ended up not in the final 5

We're in Mustipher's top 2 along with Ohio State too. Another guy we're not talking about much is Steven Moss from VA. He visited back in January and got an offer.

He's been ranked as the #1 Guard for awhile

Where'd u see he was offered, 247 and Rivals say we haven't

Confused on his status. Post above was edited to say no offer yet but the title says offer and front post says offered last May. When looking at Scout, Notre Dame is not listed as a school of interest. Can someone confirm and then, if inaccurate, fix title and offer list?

Not referring just to the conversation. If we have offered shouldn't Notre Dame be listed on Scout? I did see ND listed on Rivals though so maybe someone just hasn't updated Scout. Thanks.

Braden Smith definitely has an offer from Notre Dame. He was offered in May of 2012. Not all recruiting services are equal.
