Sanford's recruiting prowess is trending in the wrong direction. The Harbaugh effect is finally wearing off.

best of luck to the kid, wished there could have been a spot for him at ND.

Haven't followed his football career at Oregon, but he has been killing in on the track.

After winning the NCAA championship in the 110mH a couple of weeks ago (which helped Oregon win the NCAA title), Devon won the USA championships in 13.16 (same time he won the NCAA's in). First person to win both NCAA's and USA's since Renaldo Nehemiah in 1979, who was an absolute stud and probably would have won gold in 1980 Moscow (had we gone).

*Devon was helped a bit by Ash falling over a hurdle, as Ash ran 12.98 in the semifinals.

Lot of smart guys completely missed the boat a page back calling Allen a dummy for picking Oregon over Stanford.

This is one of those rare occasions where he went to the right place even though it wasn't a great academic choice.

1. He's a NCAA National Champion

2. He's a US Champion

3. He's going to the Olympics

4. He'll make good coin w/ Nike/corporate sponsorships

5. He'll make good coin in professional track

6. He'll have a job at Nike corporate for life.

If he can win the gold, he'll be batting 1.000.

For a track star, his life is shaping up to the equivalent of a genius going to MIT and winning a Nobel Prize.

Congratulations and bring back some gold Devon!

Feel bad for the kid. He's a phenomenal athlete who was born to run fast, but football has resulted in two ACL tears.

I hope he recovers fully and reaches the peak of his potential. This young man really represents himself well on the international stage.

I was almost hoping that he didn't play football, at least until he won at The Olympics.

I don't know a damn thing about track & field but this is the 2nd DQ I have seen from yesterday and I just don't see it.

No advantage was really gained. The shot down the line shows a simultaneous start by several of the guys.
