I hear that Urban is making a late rush at him, promising to make him "the Next Percy Harvin."

The guys not even trolling. There's no need to attack him for every post single post he makes.

Thanks for the advice. I'll take it into consideration. Might the same have been said about a certain reptilian poster? Just asking.

UCLA really does seem like the simplest destination choice for him and should be expected... but I don't think a decision has been made nor do I think ND/Bama are out of the running.

That's how I am approaching it. Expect UCLA, hope for ND.

Dear goodness, I would hate for him to end up at Alabama.

Not that Me2SouthBend or anyone needs my help, but his remark to Bishop was responsive, and therefore, imo, appropriate: it's arguably easier not to get too "emotionally attached" when you consider scholly numbers a loose guideline like Saban does. My view is, it's not personal; if you are a Bama fan (or anyone else) and don't like fair criticism, go elsewhere.

Yes. I'm a big fan of aggregating all of the information that is out there and then making a guesstimate off of that. I've been maintaining for weeks that USC was out while a lot of people ("experts" included) said they expected him to resign with USC. Why? Because the preponderance of evidence/chatter from everywhere that wasn't a USC source said otherwise.

I had it at 1/3 UCLA, 1/3 ND, 1/3 Bama... giving ND as good of a chance as anyone. As things stand right now, I'd put it at 45% UCLA, 35% ND, 20% Bama just based on the general "consensus" of the internet. So I think UCLA should probably be expected right now... but I think reports of this being a "done deal" are reallllllllly jumping the gun.

I think that's an OK comparison. Everyone is in the dark because EV isn't talking to anyone and so all information coming out is second hand at best. All we know is that he has the longest standing relationship with UCLA coaches and enjoyed his two OVs to ND/'Bama. UCLA really does seem like the simplest destination choice for him and should be expected... but I don't think a decision has been made nor do I think ND/Bama are out of the running.

Bama is out. ND/UCLA dead even. Mom wants ND.

Plus you know that she, above anyone, probably, would prefer her son to be close(r) to home, all things being equal. If she is willing to bite the bullet for her son's long term benefit, that means something signficant, as I hope the young man understands.

True for some but not for all. Some understand that it is better to send the kid away from home to avoid the simplest of distractions.

Kinda what my dad did with me when it came to the Marines. I was 17 and needed his signature and he always told me it was the hardest thing for him to do in his entire life. He knew that for me to get where I need to be in life, I had to leave home and leave behind everything that can be a distraction to include family (my sisters were pulling for me to stay).

Off I went.

Not that this applies to every family but just how in this case, I can relate.

I think we agree. Your dad did what was in your best interest; he overcame a natural impulse to keep you close to do what he thought best for you. I am sure most mothers want their kids close, too; if she's telling him ND is better for him, she's making the same kind of difficult call your dad made. It's worth noting if you are the kid.

Have the prayer pic ever worked? From what I recall, in the past, every time the prayer pics are utilized we lose out on the recruit (Armstead, Agholor, Poole).
