What is strange about the above "discussion" to me is why anyone cares about who gets "credit" for "predicting" anything or not. This is a classic psychological situation where excessive focussing in a nearly fictional "community" of opinions [in the sense that IE board members don't actually interact with one another in a real world way] creates fantasy illusions about who is what and who has more vBucks and who needs to be stroked or bowed to. Really quite Whack when one steps back from it.

When the board diverts from actual open friendly information-sharing into these "You Dammed Little Punk" grenade-throwing sessions, it becomes more like a role-playing fiction experience that the rest of us have to wade through to try to learn things. "Taking credit" or tooting one's own horn about priority is rather pathetic and adolescent.

But I'm probably just old, and all this crap-slinging is supposed to be part of fictional personalities playing over-the-top as trolls, negativists, primal screamers, desperately seeking some strange fun in b!tching about things. I wish it would stop, and I'm sorry for contributing to the thread derailment which has been well underway.

So true. I don't think anyone is going to get a raise, win the Nobel or win the lottery just because they post something on a forum.

Don't count on Hollins flipping to ND boyz, II is reporting that Kelly didn't visit him.

IDK I just find that shaddy and disrespectful of the family to just turn them away like that. He just came back from an official visit that ND paid for him and his family and all they want in return is to come down and talk a little more.

IMO - if they did deny them

His dad said before Kelly left that they didnt want to waste anyones time. So its hardly disrespectful for them to turn them away. If the roles were reversed would you be saying the samething if it was Folstons dad that did the same?

With or without, Folston, Fitts, hollins, alexander, iaasac, prevot, and vanderdoes, this is an extraordinary 2013 class for Notre Dame. We should be proud.

Hollins High On Irish

Really high on ND
Lifelong Irish fan
Distance is not a factor
No offer yet but they expect one
Hollins Sr is a big fan. Mentions watching The Bus, Reggie Brooks
Has been in the 4/3 his whole life but can do anything.
Would be a LB for us

“Right now, we’re looking at the University of Washington, Oregon, Notre Dame, Texas Tech, Nebraska and Stanford,” Hollins Sr. said.

“He’s a 3.9 GPA student, he’s in all honors courses,” said Hollins Sr. “He’s a smart kid who understands the game of football to a science. He really prides himself on knowing his position, understanding the position.”

I wonder what changed?! I think it pretty crappy if they wouldn't let Kelly visit two days after an OV. Could at least take a minute and say thanks, we appreciate it but we're going to look elsewhere. (I'm assuming the Hollins' killed the visit. If that's not right, I apologize in advance.)

Agreed, but would have been great to have a big finish instead of just holding on like last year.

Remember when we had way too many kids interested for a limited number of spots? That was fun!

In all seriousness though this is one hell of a class. Now Toy Alford just needs to get out and push the car the last 100 yds and hope EV jumps out of the crowd and picks up the car and throws it.

I agree this is an incredible class. I got greedy and definitely got my hopes up for an epic finish.

Yes I would...would I be happy, yes....would I think it's right, no.

I don't think it's disrespectful (crappy is my word). If the roles were reversed, I would think the same.

Has the dad taken over here or is he reflecting his son's feelings? Rhetorical question.

There has to be a highly rated recruit out there that would fill a need that would love to go to ND. If we don't fill all the scholarships this year with recruits, that gives ND an extra for next year.

Maybe ND came at them hard too late? Was verballed to UCLA for close to a year.

I think Deon (son) fell in love with ND, but Deon(dad) loves UCLA too much. Son doesn't want to disappoint dad. Thats just my opinion.

I don't know but I will count this as #3 recruit we could have had this cycle that we will not get.

We've had some tough luck the past 2 cycles but overall the staff and team are doing great! Players are developing nicely and the coaches are working their asses off. Maybe we'll get a good surprise but if not and we hold onto everybody I will still be thrilled.

in all honesty i have only really been praying for Eddie V as the cherry on top of this class.
and that option is still alive at this point.
I'll take it.
i think Nicky Satan goes for the "hard close" with Eddie this weekend and it back fires on him in our favor.

Agreed, I was pretty confident that if we went after him he'd be ours. I think the potential position switch is what might have turned his father off.

Sapp said before he visited last week that it was a longshot to get him to flip. Not surprised he stuck with UCLA.

Which was surprising because Deon was interviewed by a couple of sites where he stated it was 50/50 ND-UCLA as of a couple weeks ago
