I don't know where he stands now as far as weight, but if he packed on some good weight, he could find himself at C. Congrats on the award!

Yes, bigtime cheers. Ever since Frank Beamer changed college football by creating a whole kick-blocking package of strategies, the value/necessity of having a very rapid and accurate long snapper has gone through the roof.

As to Daly playing actual ordinary line plays, that would surprise me more than almost any reasonable player development on the entire team. I will be delighted to be proven wrong, but I put Daly's likelihood of being able to play O-Line at ND level at very close to zero. That does not mean that I value his contribution any less.

great job scott!!

on another note, i find it extremely unlikely folks that he will be doing anything outside of long snapping in college and i am fine with that.

He's one of the biggest guys on his team.

I wonder what it is like to be a coach and your best player is a long snapper.

I loved the beginning of his video. Very glad to have Scott on the team.

Very glad Scott is a part of ND Nation. Lord only knows we need more sp teams problems, but we check that off the list.

guys is Nick Tausch eligible for a 5th year? I noticed on Daly's twitter that he has been practising with him and Brindza..

Yes, and he seems more likely to get a 5Y with each passing day.

It would be prudent to go with 2 kickers. If Brindza goes down, ND would be in serious trouble without a dependable backup

Maybe. A 5Y for Tausch definitely makes more sense than one for J. Golic or Stockton, but I'd much rather use those scholarships on 2013 recruits.

The staff can probably attract sufficient talent at the specialist positions simply by offering preferred walk-on status.

don't forget the kicker from georgia.....im sure there is a reason behind some contact w/ him

id rather have tausch than a walk on frosh tbh

Of course. But Tausch only gets a 5Y if we have a couple extra scholarships lying around due to Vanderdoes, Fitts, Hollins, etc. choosing to go elsewhere.

The funny thing about it is that the staff has been all over him this spring and summer. Glad to hear his multiple workouts a day have payed off, he's a great guy, no one more deserving!

what all does the camp entail?

is it just about the snap quickness and accuracy?

i would hope strength, blocking, ability to make open field tackles etc are included

i have no idea but i presume it entails snapping footballs into open washing machine doors.

love Daly but if Conrad can get the job done as a walk-on and free up a scholarship then i'm all for it.

long snappers are so valuable ppl don't realize.

he's obviously a good one b/c we have rarely if ever brought his name up, which is very good in this case.
