Lane brought Marcus Allen's Heisman when he visited Ty today.

He sucks as a coach but he knows how to recruit.

Why didn't he bring Reggie Bush's Heisman too? Oh, yeah.....

Because just like Matt Barkley, this is as close as he'll get under Lame.

Is it just me or is Lane's toting of past Heisman trophies kind of a microcosm of his coaching.

He'd rather sell players on an individual achievement rather than being part of a team/program...

Show em the shiny things enough to get them to sign on the dotted line, then it's too late

That may be true, but if so a lot of people were fooled, not just us. Sapp has said repeatedly that he thinks it means something that when Urbie tried to get back involved with Isaac around the time of the AA games, Isaac told him to take a hike -- but Isaac was always receptive to Chuck Martin's advances.

Sapp was on Bill King's show this morning and continues to say the same thing. He said the only coaches outside of USC that Isaac continues to return calls to is ND with Martin and Alford. He said it would still seem unlikely that he will flip but definitely not out of the question.

In regards to his visit to USC this weekend instead of ND. Some might view that as the nail in the coffin, but to me it still shows doubt. I bet I can count on one hand the number of recruits that went on a cross country trip for an unofficial visit to a school that they were "solid" with the weekend before National Signing Day. Yeah that happens all the time.

That's a very good point. Unofficial all the way across the country at this point seems odd.

All the more reason why it's probably unlikely he flips. But to those that have been saying he's a "solid" commit to USC, I would beg to differ.

Wasn't this kinda the same thing with Taylor Decker, except with tOSU?

Any possibility that Isaac visits ND one more time?

Any chance he panics after watching all the defectors jump ship without him and decides playing LB for a championship-caliber team isn't so bad afterall?

I'd call him, tell him we'd love him at LB, and leave it at that.

As coach Kelly sees news of the USC class falling apart in real time, he picks up the phone.

"Hey Ty, this is Coach Kelly just checking in. We'd love to have you come to South Bend and be a playmaker at linebacker for us. That's all I wanted. Peace."

Stone cold. I would love it.

I'd be clear that we want him at LB... He'd be a tremendous pick-up, but I don't want any Folston drama.

He's not coming and he's all RB, despite what some of you think he's the #1 RB on the coaches board.

I'm sure he is a great RB, but we have 2 good RBs and need a LB.

And you don't think that this situation is serious enough that he might consider his options for a minute or two? Wouldn't you?
