Looking like Barry Alvarez will coach the Rose Bowl.

I've been hearing that too ... does that make sense? Is he still that involved with the football program that he is capable of doing that?

Something was posted on Twitter yesterday about a text he sent to a recruitnik. The analyst asked him if the coaching change has any affect in his recruitment and he said something to effect of absolutely not... lmao... smh.

They all say that, until something better comes along. I bet he'd flip to ND the coaching staff asked him to.

They might if Bryant's visit this weekend doesn't go well. Having said that, I think that Bryant's visit will go ver well.

I'm guessing that the hold up has more to do with James than it does with Bryant. During Eric Hanson's chat today, he indicated that James' odds of signing were better than 50%, so they may be waiting on something to happen with him before they try to replace him with Clement.

I see your point. I was thinking with James lets say a 60/40 chance to enroll and then Bryant visits and doesn't seem interested that we would reach out to Clement. I think not taking a back this year isn't an option so with James being only 60/40 we would then go after Clement if Bryant didn't want in. My logic on this could be completely flawed though.

It is a better job than Arky. Rumors that things were deteriorating.

I'm surprised by this too. At the very least I thought Wisc was equal to AR but is it possible that AR has a bigger fanbase and a larger recruiting base therefore making it a bit more enticing for coaches?

Bielema didn't think so. He's stated that Wisky "wasn't wired" to pay top dollar for assistants, which is why he lost so many good ones over the last couple years. He won't have that problem at Arkansas. Not to mention that it'll be much easier to recruit, and he'll have an easier time getting into the new playoff from the SEC.

Better facilities, better recruiting territory, lowered academic standards, warmer weather. Guys, WI has been to 3 straight Rose bowls and nobody gives a ****.

Bielema cashed in big time.

There's a poster on II who knows Alvarez. The dude said the assistants didn't like working for Bielema and that many of them left last year to follow Chryst to Pitt (and to make less money).

IMO bielema knew his Stock wasn't gonna get any higher so he saw a opportunity to leave for a equal or better job.

Honestly, head coaches **** off their assistants on the regular.

I've heard many a story about Lou and his assistants.

Folston is supposed to decide between ND and Auburn on signing day.

I think Folston is gone...my opinion.

True, I have confidence he will stay, Looks at talent surrounding him and decides he would be crazy not to go to ND.

I hope you are right, but I think he looks at playing in the SEC in a backfield that is weak and he goes to Auburn.

"IF" (cannot stress that enough) TF decides to go to Auburn I believe the staff just adds that scholly into defensive studs they are looking to pull in this cycle. I like Clement and think could be great, but the D carried us this year and we need to stock up in that category when we can. If we miss on TF and the D we just push it to all the talent next year that already have us high on their boards. I could be shocked but I believe the only other RB we would take is Ty.

IMO Clement was never a guy that the staff would have accepted. Maybe if they knew Folston and Bryant weren't coming. He was always behind the likes of Ryan Green, Tarean Folston, Ty Isaac, Greg Bryant etc etc, That's just my opinion

Why was Derrick Green never on our radar? I couldn't even find a recruiting post for him here.

He's not going to be on a Montee Ball or Melvin Gordon type of level, but he's going to be a really good RB for the Badgers.

Didn't know where to put this but hey, Matt Millen might be the worst announcer of all time. Not only is he annoying but he is literally stupid as $h!t. Just really wrong on so many levels. Has no idea what he's taking about, it's pretty funny. I'm laughing more than I'm intrigued.
