You know my position on Swarbrick and given that he's one of the best lawyers to ever hang a shingle in Indy I take some comfort in his comments. Rest assured he did a thorough investigation of this. The truth probably lies somewhere in between, but I'll reserve judgement until the dust clears.

I don't think this will really effect Manti's draft status. The pros barely give a crap about anything as long the guy can play football.

Yes sad to say but I am also having a hard time believing he was not in on this. With so many ways to see each other, Skype, ovoo, etc. The contradicting timeline of when they first met ..wow I'm just blown away by this. I can't believe this situation, but the random twitter mafia, and for me at least, Facebook mafia, going off on the kid without stopping to think that MAYBE, JUST MAYBE, he was embarrassed about being duped drives me crazy.

I mean, isn't it entirely plausible that he was extremely embarrassed that as the BMOC at ND he was dating someone online?

I know we live in a society that vilifies people immediately, and that everyone going off on twitter and facebook play a major role in that, but sorry, it drives me crazy.

Manti needs to come out and admit the lies he actually did tell, if in fact he did. That would go a long way towards confirming this story.

I think anyone who has followed this young man, or really, can use their brain to think logically, would understand that it's much more likely that he was duped and not that he was the center of some sprawling conspiracy to generate publicity for himself with the end result a fraudulent Heisman and award season that would ultimately lead to more $$ after the season. What a ridiculous thought.
