The problem is that ILB is such an instinctual position that it's hard to just move an ATH there and "teach them" to play it. Easy to do for other skill positions, harder for ILB. At least it isn't 4-3 MLB.

Next year we are fine though with Fox/Calabrese/Moore/Grace... might not be a dominant group but it'll be OK. The future is where you go "oh snap."

MT @MichaelDeeb42: Times of speculation test a man's character and commitment. I'm 100% committed to #NotreDame & I know my boys are with me

LOVE this kid. Would post his tweet here but I suck at twitter. But my love for Deeb isn't newfound.

Whoops there ya go, Kak. Good look.

It's actually infuriating if you stop to think about it. The nerve of this kid ... We shut recruiting down at his position apparently just to appease him, and then he ditches us? Ugh.

The kid is just a stone cold liar. He said multiple times things like "100% sure of my decision and 0% chance I decommit." And when he reaffirmed his commitment to Notre Dame he publicly made a statement about "completely shutting things down."

All lies. Even lied to all of his "friends" in the class. It's really pathetic. It's one thing to flip... it's another to handle recruiting the way he did.

Rooting for karma in this one.

That's why I said what I said about him in the other thread, which totally goes against my rule about not being critical of kids especially during the recruiting process. But Alex lacks character. It isn't a matter of maturity or being a kid. There is something about the way certain people are wired that makes them untrustworthy and flaky, and its there when you're five and when you're 85.

Lol I'm glad you said this Rhode. I too try to stick to a rule of not bad-mouthing these kids for flipping commitments, but in this situation I have a hard time being so understanding. The apparent duplicity here really bothers me -- and I was feeling bad about it, because it goes against my general philosophy of reacting to these flips only by asking who we get to replace the guy.

I am assuming you are talking about Anzalone and not Deeb?

I'm sure it's been covered but all this dude tweets about is eating salmon and working out. He is going to be in great physical shape when he shows up and it is obvious that he has a tremendous work ethic. In addition to his physical nature, the thing that excited me the most is his attitude. I believe he will be a great linebacker for us in the years to come.

I love that quote from Deeb: "If you're not ready to be challenged daily, then don't come here"

Definitely a RKG.

Long time reader but first time poster... love IE!

Losing Anzalone hurts but I'd take Deeb every single time. As someone mentioned earlier, all he tweets about is working out and getting better. And after reading his quote about being challenged daily, it's hard not to get excited about guys like that...

Welcome KK, I defiantly agree. You need to have a LB with that "killer" type mentality. I like someone that just wants to rip heads off, a la Singletary. Those are the type of LB's that make a D scary.

Not bad, but I think it's more like Deeb Mike or Deeb Will in this defense. See what I did there?

Its funny that ISD put that on twitter because I've thought that for awhile. Both very motivated and intense individuals. Great fit.

If this fellow can "run" [broad field "arrival" at point of attack], he's going to be a BIG winner.

Its going to be pretty cool when Deeb is a starting MLB for ND when we win a National Championship while Alex is having fun in Gainesville.
