Everyone still think this is standard negotiating tactic? If this isn't settled by tomorrow...

Gus Bradley and Brian Kelly look like the Eagles' top targets now

INQUIRER STAFF WRITER

Of the remaining candidates that the Eagles have interviewed or plan to interview, Gus Bradley and Brian Kelly would seem to be the two that best fit the template Jeffrey Lurie set when he explained what kind of coach he was looking for to replace Andy Reid.

If it’s Bradley and/or Kelly that they have narrowed their sights on, the Eagles could be very close to announcing their next head coach.

Bradley’s Seahawks travel to Atlanta to face the Falcons in a divisional playoff game on Sunday at 1 p.m. If Seattle was to lose, the Eagles – or any team for that matter – would be free to hire the 46-year-old defensive coordinator.

If the Seahawks win and Bradley was the guy, the wait would extend a week until after the conference championship. And if they won again, then the Eagles would have to sit still for another two weeks until after Super Bowl XLVII.

While many expected the Eagles to ultimately hire an offensive-minded coach, and most of their attention has been pointed in that direction, Bradley is viewed around the league as the kind of forward-thinker Lurie said he was after.

Dont be that way. Every board needs someone who keeps it real.

Real?

I don't come here for real.

Personally.

My life isn't nearly this dramatic.

If your's is, wow. I got you though.

What I meant to say originally in order to prevent all of the gnashing of teeth (or tooth in HCTI's case) is, "right on. Fvck yeah! This ship is sinking. Jump rats!"

Great. Now johnny is succumbing. Not a good day for this board at all.

It should be noted that this is the same agent (Trace Armstrong) that had Butch Jones fly out and hang in Colorado for two whole days bluffing that he was going to take the job while he worked more money/years/facilities out of Cinci. He also leaked all of these "a deal is practically done" stories of Butch Jones to Colorado when it wasn't to take the pressure cooker up another notch on the Bearcats.

The cautionary tale though? After that whole dog and pony show Jones did end up leaving... just for an even better gig at Tennessee.

Still hedging my bets on him staying at ND but surprised something wasn't done today. If ND doesn't pay him what he deserves and give him whatever else he wants there's no doubt he eventually does leave for another job. Ball is squarely in the BoT's, Jenkins', and Swarbick's hands. I don't think they screw it up... then again, the Malloy and Kevin White years have jaded me a little and it's certainly possible they do screw the pooch.

If Kelly left, I think most of the Trustess wont get reelected.

Good point.

Now, if I include an emoticon of me winking, will I still be serial? At the end of course, otherwise I'm flirting. Or do I have this backwards?

Is a "setting" statement needed?

Will italics, the newest craze, cover the necessary provision to let you know I'm ornery?

Is ornery still an acceptable word?

Do you think the admin will lower the standards for the football players like rumor has it?

If that does occur it doesn't speak well in trying to find the next coach. If Kelly leaves because he thinks he can't get the program to the next level with the current set up, why would another coach worth his salt take it. Do we end up with another Weis? Geez, this isn't getting any prettier.
