He is exactly the type of player we could use against an SEC team. Another 11-12 win season would be very helpful.

Hope the staff goes all out for him. Type of kid you can leave on an island. We got some good corners on are team and Luke coming but I don't know if we have "leave em on an island" types like this kid is.

One thing about our recent recruiting is very clear. When it comes to New Jersey recruits it is an adventure for sure. Rather end up with the recruit or not Jersey recruits sure do make it interesting for us. See Shummate, Yuri Wright, and AQM.

He's been the name for the 14' class for awhile now. Keep winning and these kids will come! To me ND offers the best of everything academically but when the football team is good it's all good!

Made his top 5 along with Michigan Ohio State Stanford and LSU

Hopefully LSU is nothing more than an SEC token in that list. As for the rest, like us, they are all programs that have A LOT to prove this upcoming year to see where the program is really headed. Another BCS campaign from us should go a long way here I think. I hope BK treats this recruitment like he did Jaylon's.

I'm sure he's a priority for the staff, but wasn't he leaning towards Michigan earlier if I remember correctly? Going to be a tough battle.

He was but the last update I saw had Stanford at the top. Maybe he goes out for a visit there while we are there and we steal the show?

I think he grew up a scUM fan, but to be honest I don't think that means as much as some people think. It may get them in the picture, but at the end of the day, once he starts taking OVs and really researching his options - it will come down to a number of factors and I don't think childhood favorite will be one of them. We see lots of kids go against their childhood favorites. PLUS, it's not like he lives in Meatchicken country where he'll be pressured on a daily basis. On the contrary, him being from NJ and having Bosco roots can only help ND's chances here. My real concern on that list is OSU <-- that's the only other program in that list that is trending upwards as quickly as we are.

Good points - especially with OSU. They had the most under the radar 12-0 season possible because of the sanctions. They're really going to reel in big prospects.

I do like our chances. Bobby D would be handling his recruitment, no? What was I even worried about!?

Gotta think that once he gets on campus, gets with the coaching staff, and sees the potential in the defensive backfield, we'll have a fair shot here.

The UM fan thing has worn off it doesn't really matter anymore. The team to watch is tOSU.

People seem to think all schools have a good shot. Growing up a Michigan fan hardly makes Michigan even the leader. People currently think Ohio State has a really good shot... as do Stanford and Notre Dame with the premium he'll put on academics.

LSU is the outlier.

Guessing LSU made the list purely based on its recent history of developing pro-level DB talent. LSU's put a lot of really good DBs into the NFL over the last half decade or so. 3 top-6 picks (LaRon Landry, Patrick Peterson and Morris Claiborne) and numerous other early-round picks. Last year, LSU's 5th and 6th best DBs went in the 3rd and 4th rounds, respectively. Three more are going to get drafted this year (Reid, Simon and Mathieu); a fourth, Craig Loston, might declare and would be a late-round prospect.

The Lesticles remains as clueless as any coach I've ever seen, but John Chavis' defense is unrivaled in its consistency in developing DBs.

For the posters saying LSU is not a great academic school, it may not be a ND or Stanford but for business it is heavily recruited by Fortune 500 companies

Businessweek ranks LSU's undergraduate business program at 120th nationally. I couldn't find an MBA ranking that included LSU at all.

Well...we're waiting, Sparty.

It might be on the ride, I don't know. When going through the college scouting process, my family urged me to look there. My dad said LSU is a grossing(?) university and most businesses look there for recruitment. It has nothing to do with ranking.

I dunno about grads being heavily recruited by Fortune 500s, but it's a solid program. Around the top 20-25% of US MBA programs. It's probably the best program LSU has outside of petroleum engineering and its law school (which is around 75-80th nationally) and maybe its education program.

In general, LSU is an average public university. In terms of athletes, its as much of an academic joke as the other SEC programs.

BK is visiting Jabril at PC today per Wiltfong. His HC thinks OSU and Stanford have the early lead, with ND and Michigan running 3 and 4.

Weird. I really thought it was, in order, Mich, ND/OSU, Stanford.

Still a long way to go, but things are looking decent for all the 4 listed schools.

OSU needs to lose to one of those crappy schools.

Northwestern is going to take them down in Evanston 10/5/13. I may get tickets for that game.

To say the least NW tickets compared to ND are much cheaper and easier to get. Also Ryan Field is a short distance to travel for me. Went to my first NW game against IU this year. Going to try to go for the OSU game next year.

Hopefully watch OSU fall that day. A win by NW could very well boost NDs recruiting of Pepper's and their BCS title game apperance chances in the process.

Per the 247 update, it looks like ND will also get an unofficial this spring along with OSU and Stanford. Would appear the visit went well.

Edit: beat by two solid minutes. Why do I even bother? Haha.
