Chris Brown (of smartfootball fame) just posted a fascinating article to Grantland about Te'o's schematic responsibilities within Diaco's 3-4:

Watching Manti Te'o play football, with his incredible energy and attention to the little things, has been a pleasure all season, and getting to see him do it against Alabama, unquestionably the biggest challenge he and the rest of the Irish defense have faced all season, will be fascinating to watch. Regardless of the outcome, it won't be the end of watching Te'o's instinctive, sophisticated style of search and destroy. "Despite Te'o coming in second in the Heisman, all the wins, all the tackles, and all the interceptions, Diaco has maybe the scariest message of all: "His best football is out in front of him. He's just going to keep getting better and better."

I can't wait.

Highly recommended.

If the Irish come out on top, they should carry this young man off the field.

Manti spoke directly to the Echoes. He awoke them and brought them to their feet. They will forever thank him by having Our Lady at the top of the football world. Thank you Manti. Bring it home tonight!!

I'd love for Manti to go out with a title. Not for me, for him and the team.

Thank you, Manti, for leading this team back to the top. Thank you, Manti, for representing this team and University in the manor you have.

He came as a Notre Dame student/athelete, he grew to a true Notre Dame man, he will leave a Notre Dame legeND.

This kid I work with who only has watched 1 football game this year was hating on Te'o all day due to his poor performance last night. Saying he won't be a top 15 pick anymore , some GM's have scratched his name off their list and that CJ Mosley is a better prospect.

Just for some background he went to Auburn, that's what and Auburn education gets you.

Just read a Yahoo Sports Article on him and how last nights game exposed him. Made me sick to my stomach. He didn't have a good game, but that is only 1 game out of an entire career. I was upset on him not rising and dominating. But, he wasn't horrible. And look at the body of work.

Just wait, a team will draft him and say thank GOD.

Then again, Russell Wilson was drafted in the 3rd round and now he is the last standing Rookie QB in the playoffs. And he throws behind a line of 2 good lineman and and 3 very average to below average lineman.

We love you Manti!!!

Go Irish!

Mosley was higher on a lot of boards I saw prior to the game

He had a poor game, but that should not overshadow 4 years.

It's not like he was out of position or looked slow out there. His diagnosis of plays was ok, he had the speed to get in position, he just missed tackles.

To bad he didn't have a great night like we all wanted to. But no doubt he was the face of Notre Dame. He is a true leader and a great person. He may not be great at the next level but he will be good. We will miss him greatly next year even with J. Smith coming in.

Manti you are great team player. We will all miss you greatly. The Change you have brought to ND will never be forgotten. You are my favorite ND player of All time. Good Luck Manti Teo.
