Looks faster than Folston. Anyway we would take his commitment if he chose before Folston?

Lets not get ahead of ourselves, its just a school visit. He's still commited to Oregon. And no I think Folston is higher on the board. Basically I think he falls into the same category as Bower. Staff wants Redfield, Folston and AQM but we need back up plans and thats where Bower, Wilson, Duarte, Williams come in.

^ This

I have no insider info at all, but with what we have heard about those guys being more than likely coming to us and the fact that we have had surprise non signings the last couple of years leads me to very much get behind the logic of this thought

I would assume the staff wants Folston more considering we've been going after him the whole time. No info just my gut.

If he opens things up, probably us, Oregon and tOSU. tOSU may be the leader. Per special edition of tunnel vision (what a treat).

I would have to agree with this personally...

I'm not disagreeing, but check out this tape. This kid is exceptional and a great pass catcher. I think both players would be great options and it might be first come first serve.

I assume they'd prefer whoever has higher upside as a Z WR. That's probably Folston, but I could be wrong.

Nothing against Folston, I would love to have that kid. That being said, I would LOVE to have Dontre.

Interesting to think about how this might affect other RBs' recruitments. If Wilson flips to tOSU, might Ezekiel Elliot be tempted to leave? If Wilson flips to us, will Folston take his place at Oregon?

Are we in with this kid, or is he relevant as a domino?

He's "on ND's radar", per Wiltfong, and that's why Cooks is visiting him, but nothing's going to happen right away. Folston is still the guy to watch for now.

I'm wondering if it starts with the possibility of Chip Kelly leaving for the NFL. I see the reports of reporters asking him NFL questions but when no head coach has been fired yet in the NFL, hard for him to talk to some of them.

Some good gigs will be opening up too.

#Oregon ATH commit Dontre Wilson says he'll reopen recruitment if Chip Kelly goes to NFL. #NotreDame & #OSU would be considered.

Nice to see the staff has a backup plan for all of the top targets. Assume they are keeping in touch in case Folston don't work out?

Oregon RB Commit Waiting On Chip

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. - Dontre Wilson made up his mind that he wanted to go to Oregon in May and the Texas running back still wants to be a Duck, but he wants to be sure of Chip Kelly’s future before he solidifies his own.

“I’m solid,” the 5-foot-10, 174-pounder from DeSoto High School (DeSoto, Texas) said following day two of Under Armour All-America practice on Tuesday.

“If Chip Kelly goes to the league, I might open up my recruitment, but nothing has been said as far as right now.”

Wilson has two schools in mind if he were to open things back up.

“Notre Dame and Ohio State basically,” he said.

The Irish were in contact last month, but that’s dropped off a bit recently.

“I haven’t talked to Notre Dame in a while,” he said. “The last time I talked to them was probably last month. They were saying if I decided to open up my recruitment again, they’d still have a spot for me.”

Wilson would still give Notre Dame a look if he did look around and the Irish were interested.

“There’s a lot of tradition, great running backs come through their program and they’re always among the top schools and they made it to their first national championship,” Wilson said.

The situation for Notre Dame with Wilson is similar as to the Ty Isaac situation. If the Irish end up landing Tarean Folston, as is expected on Friday, to go with running back commit Greg Bryant, it's unlikely they'd have the space to recruit another back in this class.

There’s one thing that sticks out about the Buckeyes.

“Coach Urban Meyer,” Wilson said flatly. “He said if I were to come, I would play the role that Percy Harvin played at Florida. I could see myself doing that.”

Wilson does find it amazing that even after making an early commitment, his recruitment is still playing out in the final month of the cycle.

“It’s crazy that I’m just now finding out that Coach Chip Kelly is about to leave,” he said. “It’s kind of hurting the team a little, but you just have to live with it. It’s life.”

Even if Kelly were to leave, Wilson could still end up with the Ducks.

“I’ll still look at Oregon,” he said. “If (running back coach Gary) Campbell stays, I’m going to stay committed.”

Wilson hasn’t participated in any Under Armour practices this week, but plans on playing Friday.

“I had a high ankle sprain in my playoffs, so I’m just going to sit out until the game.”

haha so hilarious. Urban literally says that to everybody, and recruits eat it up every time.
