So basically EVERYONE thinks ND would get rolled by AL and that ND has no chance of winning.

5% sounds extremely low. I would say it is more in the 20-35% who think that ND will get hammered by 10 or more. At least.

You're letting the 5% who are blind homers or trolls skew your perception of SEC fans and think we're all that way (and yes, ND and every other school has a few such fans). Most of us think this ND team would be right in the mix in the SEC with Bama, UGA, UF, and LSU, and would have won 10-12 games.

There are a lot of reasonable Bama fans, but the forum I looked at most think ND would only be 3rd best in either SEC division.

Only a month ago those same fans were saying ND was no better than seventh in the SEC. Shows what a month of reasoning can do with closed minds and a divisional mentality.

Ten points is "hammered" now? Hell ten beers isn't even "hammered" unless you're 13. :)

I remember when Ohio State beat the Irish by fourteen and we all said it was a decently close game.

Really hope I sit in the Bama section for the game.

My buddy and I want to feel like the two Delta Force snipers in "Blackhawk Down" that get dropped into hostile territory and rock the surrounding forces like a f--king hurricane.

I hope you get a chance to sit in the Bama section. If you don't, go over to it and walk around during the game. Cheer all you want and pull for your team, but be a good fan and not the sort of obnoxious jerk nobody likes, say hi to a few people, talk about the game, and you'll be treated very well and have a great time, win or lose. 99% of the Bama fans will go out of their way to welcome you and discuss the game. They'll treat you the way you act.

I've been to quite a few Alabama games, and that's a very tall guarantee you've just written. Particularly during the tailgate.

I was using hyperbole. Neutral site games from my experience only attract the good examples of fans, and I expect both sides to be cordial and welcoming. Nobody deserves to hear an obnoxious jerk at a game where tickets are 2 grand a pop.

Can I get an "AMEN" from both sides of the aisle?

Not sure this will be a significant factor but Alabama does have a new OC this year.

I thought Jim Macillwain called an awesome last year agaisnt LSU but he's gone.

Didn't know where else to post this. Great interview on II with Paul Longo. Definitely feel like this guy deserves some credit for the way this team has been performing. He also feels like a ND lifer. Him and Kelly are extremely close.

Paul Longo's conditioning is a huge reason why a like ND to win this national championship. Just so confident ND's D-Line will hold up for 4 quarters and OT if necessary even against Bama's O-Line. Thats not say Bama won't have some minor success running the ball, because lets face it their great. ND though will not run out of gas in the 4th quarter like other teams have done.

Our new OC came in running virtually the exact same offense as McElwain and just added a few new wrinkles, so the transition was seamless. Really nothing new to learn and nothing seemed to change. About the only difference is that he seems to have expanded the passing game slightly.

Sorry if this was answered already, but does anyone know what section the ND students and band will be sitting in? Trying to buy tickets online and want to avoid the Bama band at all costs!

Merry Christmas everyone!

I just heard some fat@ss (Hugh Douglas) and Jalen Rose dogging us on Numbers Never Lie. They both lauded Bama for being a team that truly has a "Next Man In" philosophy and that Notre Dame just doesn't have the depth. It was never mentioned that guys like KRuss have stepped up this year or that we have 4/5 star talent like Ishaq and Sheldon Day as our depth in the front seven.

Michael Smith had our back as usual. The numbers didn't lie.

Michael Smith is an actual journalist. Jalen Rose is a homer of an NBA analyst and Hugh Douglas..well, he played for the Eagles...nuff said.

Why would you say anything like this? With ticket prices like this, most Subway Alumni would be doing the same. I cannot afford $2,000.00 tickets. Since you can, we know going back to the original comment, that at least one can get in.

And we Southerners get called bigoted and ignorant! I'm always amazed at how people from outside the South who've never been here believe the stereotypes of us, but are horribly offended by stereotypes of any other group.

A black friend of mine loves to tell of visiting relatives in Cleveland. His cousin's husband asked him how could he stand to live in Alabama since all Black's lived in shacks in the woods, had to run from the Klan, couldn't go into stores or eat at restaurants, etc. My friend was just stunned. He said that no matter what he told the guy, he didn't believe it. He had this image in his head and "knew" how it really was. Ignorance is bliss, I guess.

Lighten up guys. I live in the middle of SEC country. It was said with tongue in cheek. If you think for one minute that SEC fans are not hostile then you have never been to Knoxville, Baton Rouge, or Tuscaloosa. I have and I have also listened for the last few weeks about how the Irish has no chance. They shouldn't even be in this game. They have played nobody until now and will get plastered.

As for the 2k ticket price, I wouldn't pay that if I had money to burn.

Ala Bamer fans say, "Rolllllllll Tide, huh pawwwwlllllllll."

Dude stop with the stereotypes, you are deflowering alot of poster's delicate sensibilities. I explained to my buddy from the South that all people in the North don't roll around in 100 dollar bills and run from supermodels, but he refused to believe me. Ignorance is bliss I guess.....
