What is the "uniform surprise"?

I actually love matte helmets. They just look gritty. And am I the only one here who actually liked Michigans UTL jerseys from last season?

It would really be cool if we put a bunch of helmet stickers all over them. Tradition is so overrated. I want to celebrate mediocrity with STICKERS!!!

cincy helmets would look great with that finish in gold. I'm a fan!

I think ND had that finish on the Shamrock helmets against Maryland last season. That's what made them look like "disco balls," as I heard them referred to so many times.

Also, I only like the matte finish in black or Baylor green. I like Baylor's uniforms in general though.

Oregon's uni's for the Rose Bowl. The numbers & feathers change colors depending on your angle.

Give me a farging break! Is this garb for athletic competition or "America's Top Model + Queer Eye for the Straight Guy?"

I more than concede that the "short short" NBA style of the early Bird/Johnson era was absurd, but so was the "capri pants" reaction.

I'm an admitted old fart and curmudgeon, but I don't see how Tron styles have any real bearing on smash-mouth football. If ND can't attract quality students who happen to be quality football players without gimmicks, heaven help us.

I actually love what Oregon does with their uniforms. Fans and schools love their traditions, and Oregon's nascent tradition is to be in a perpetual state of change with their uniforms. I'm all for it.

All I'll say is that one of the few things I really respect about USC is that they don't change there uni's all the time like every other college program.

I just feel like a school that has to succumb to this has little by way of tradition. Phil Knight running their athletic department is as much of a tradition at Oregon as slapping the PLACT sign on the way to the Tunnel at ND.

I love what Oregon does. If I was a fan of a school with little to no tradition I'd want them to do the same.

I have to admit that video is pretty good, I like what they do with their jerseys but they do go over the top with the multiple combinations

If Oregon wasn't neighbors with the Nike headquarters and if the creator of Nike wasn't a graduate of Oregon then they wouldn't be so spoiled. From my understanding, these are the 2 reasons they have a million jerseys to pick from.

So since the Irish is the higher ranking team, the Irish will be home and alabama visitors right? If so, the Irish will be wearing Blue?

GO IRISH!!!!!!!!!!

Being the flashiest and most hi-tech team in the country LMAO

like it or not, they have created an identity much the same way the schools like ND or Bama have an identity of the "tradition of excelence" They are known for their flash as Notre Dame is known for its tradition. It has worked for them, so laugh all you want but I would have to say that theyve created a powerhouse in only a matter of years.

I would also like to say without concrete evidence, that a team that has risen so quickly to the top could crumble just as quick.

Craig James would probably agree...

You have to do it over a substained amount of time and I'm not talking about 5-7 years but for over a decade to be remembered in the same breath as ND, Bama, Texas, USC and a few others.
