We found a very, very good one in Cam Beidscheid

I agree that Cam is going to be a stud. I like that he is unafraid to put up shots and has shown both the ability to nail the mid-range jumper and step out behind the arc. Not to get greedy, but do you guys think as the season progresses we will see more of Zach Auguste? I am hoping he progresses and is able to give us another inside presence off the bench. So far seems he has basically been held out other than in situations where we have huge leads. He looks to have the ability to play solid defense and pull down some boards, but have not seen a lot out of him at the offensive end yet. If he can step up that would be a big aid to our team imo, plus I would hate to see a year of eligibility wasted on the occasional appearance in garbage time.

A decade is a long time. Brey has been a tournament disappointment almost every year of his career. 1 Sweet 16 in 12 years is not good at all. It's nice to win big home games and do well in-conference but it doesn't matter if you flame out early in the tournament.

ND up 26 on Brown with about 5 min to go.

Also, ND's next opponent Purdue lost to Eastern Michigan today. Could be a long year in West Lafayette.

Dec 15 vs. Purdue (neutral court)
Dec 17 vs. IPFW
Dec 19 vs. Kennesaw State
Dec 21 vs. Niagara

Four games in a really short span, but if the Irish can beat a reeling Purdue team then there is no reason not to be 12-1 heading into the Christmas break. First Big East game is Seton Hall at home on January 5th, followed by the game at Cincy that coincides with the NCG.

Cam played great last night. I was a little disappointed with Auguste's play when he was on the court, but Knight played well off the bench.

Other than winning the NCG, I would love nothing more than to see ND beat Purdue by 30+ points. I HATE Purdouche and all their annoying *** fans.

Maybe when the B1G/ACC challenge includes ND, Michigan can play them finally.

They haven't played in basketball much which is odd to say the least.

I would love to see the teams start playing. I've always wanted to see ND basketball play some of the football rivalries nonconference.

With both UM and ND basketball on the rise I think it would be safe to say it would set up nicely for a early season rivalry game each year.

Sloppy, very poorly played game but there was some very good post D by Notre Dame in that game. Atkins really needs to work on his free throw shooting though.

First half was fairly sharp. Second was pretty sloppy. They lost some intensity for sure, but understandable when you get up by 22 or whatever it was. I was really pleased with the post play on both ends for us.

They didn't blow it even when Purdue started to make a run which was good. Purdue just doesn't look like a D1 team. It's kind of a bummer because I like for in-state teams to be good, but it's hard not to cheer for Purdue to fail.

Nice win last, enjoyed watching the boys get the W! Cooly and Sherman could be huge in a Tourney run this year!

Team was really clicking and playing well tonight. Cooley had a monster start. Cam shot lights out. Everyone played well. Looking forward to conference play.

One of the worst coached games by Brey I have ever seen. I can't wait to hear why Cooley Sherman and Martin didn't play in crunch time

Ugh. Another disappointing loss. Cooley in foul trouble all night then didn't play last 10 minutes because he was bad. Martin had a really bad game too. They both played soft.

Team rallied from down 12 to take lead with a couple minutes to go but couldn't get anything offensively late. Atkins had another really really good game. 0-2 in conference play.

They are 2-2 in Big East Play. They started 2-0 with wins over Cinci and Seten Hall.

I know that Cooley was not playing well, but the decision tonight to play Knight in the last few minutes over Cooley probably cost the Irish the win. Knight didn't cut to the hoop leading to a turnover and then got blocked on a layup...both in the last minute of the game. Cooley probably makes both of those plays. Oh well, still a lot of basketball to play...but this team needs to play better if they want to make noise in the Big East this year.

Not a shocking loss though. RealTimeRPI had it projected as a 74-71 loss. ND doesn't play very well away from Joyce.
