One thing we can all agree on -- if the Irish lose, teh college football internetz will be an absolutely miserable place for about 3 months.

I don't think the world has enough bandwidth for all the exclamation points and ALLCAPS that will ensue.

Roll Tide?

Not sure if serious. It's common to refer to the regular rise and fall of sea levels as the tide "rolling" in and out. The "Crimson" is a reference to this type of algae. It's basically oceanic pond scum, though it does kill most everything in its path. Might as well call themselves the Alabama Bubonic Plague.

Does the Tide actually roll. I thought if any elephant rolls over he won't be able to get up and he'll eventually die.

Elephants can roll over easily.

People would be bummed out that is for sure. I think a great recruiting class finishing with AQM, Folson, and Redfield would be enough fire people back up pretty quickly.

We win, 17-13, in a great game that is decided by a Tide turnover late.

20-16 ND. Brindza and EG are the major factors. I see this as another Stanford type game.

There's only one Crimson Tide I know of and it ruins my week once a month.

Being down in SEC Country I'm so tired of hearing "Roll Tide" and that Notre Dame does not stand a chance against Alabama...to which I reply..."Still gotta play the game...see you on the 7th and GO IRISH" I'll be so decked on in my IRISH gear on the 7th for work...man I can't wait. GO IRISH!

Well, we like our chances. We have a very good team and like you, we expect to win. OTOH, most of us realize you're 12-0 for a reason and also have a very good team. I don't think any realistic fan from either side actually thinks the other has no chance. My honest opinion is that if we played 10 times, I think Bama would win 6 of them. We'll see in January which of those 10 games gets played.

What I find interesting and downright cant wait to see what happens is the 'for sure/arrogance and downright you just couldnt win against 6 sec teams'. They may be right-we will see. But if they are wrong there is not a mouth big enough to chew on those words. Make no mistake about it Notre Dame is an afterthought to these sec folks. They think they already played for the national championship.

Being from AL, I can say you couldn't be more wrong. If AL loses, they will say it is because of the refs or some grand conspiracy. This opinion will be voiced loudly on the Finebaum show. In the world these people live in, AL can not be beat by mortals who play by the rules.

These people make it tough to be a Tide fan sometimes.

That's fair...I'll go further and say 7 out of 10 times Bama would win this game (ND fans on here would disagree, and I get that). Thing is, it's only played ONCE, and in this one game, with the season we've had, the magic it has produced, the chemistry of the team, the way this team plays, the way this team prepares and goes about its business, the coaching, and yes, the talent, this ONE game I think ND will either prevail or die trying (and thus lose a close one).

Bama fans on the Internet are being stupid about this game. Overlooking this ND team would be a foolish, foolish thing to do for Saban's bunch. This isn't CW's 2006 team that got murdered by a vastly superior LSwho team. This team is built on the SEC model...and has played that way better than any other team in America this year(schedule included in this equation).

At the same time, any ND fan that thinks this Alabama team won't be prepared and isn't uber-talented is foolish in my mind as well. Saban can coach, no doubt, and while young, Bama is loaded with talent.

This game's going to be AWESOME!!!! I'm ignoring any Bama Internet talk because too many Internet guys are jagoffs without a clue (and yes, ND has our share of Internet idiots as well...I've tried to ban all of them LOL). And I'll ignore the crazy callers as well to that weird radio show y'all call all the time. True, intelligent fans of both teams know this will be a battle, and there will be no excuses from these types of fans - we know that the better team will win. Praying for ND...

I don't think either of these things are happening.

I have neither seen nor heard of a single ND fan that thinks this isn't a massive undertaking or that Bama's team isn't going to be loaded and ready for this game.

I also don't think for a second that Bama won't be prepared and supremely well coached. Saban won't let his players underestimate ND.

Bama fans on the other hand are full of themselves, but isn't that to be expected? 3 NC appearances in 4 years? I'd be pretty cocky too.

If it's close, I think we win. Go Irish.

Kind of a nonsense discussion point in my opinion, but if ND and Alabama played ten times, the teams which took the field after about game four wouldn't be recognizable with all the back-ups who would have to be playing due to attrition.

Actually, because I believe that our game-ready depth is actually pretty good everywhere but a little thin on O-Line, we might be the better long haul warriors on that schedule. But this is nonsense of course.

Dude, most of the time it is better than the alternative.

And I had a thought today. I had to get on-line to share it. Here is the absolute official carmatic reason that ND will win the title this year:

People from Bama, KS, Oregon, and all kinds of places are talking about what a travesty ND as Number 1 is;

Nobody rates Alabama as less that Number 2;

If ND wins, they legitimize the BCS and put a true One versus Two in the title game; not bad, after all the bitching, finally getting it right in the second to last game for this format.

You're letting the 5% who are blind homers or trolls skew your perception of SEC fans and think we're all that way (and yes, ND and every other school has a few such fans). Most of us think this ND team would be right in the mix in the SEC with Bama, UGA, UF, and LSU, and would have won 10-12 games.

Honestly, 5% seems a little low, doncha think?

LOL! Probably true! There will be a lot of sore, beat up players on the morning of Jan 8th. Just rolling over and getting out of bed will be a challenge. After the Bama/LSU game this year, players from both sides said they felt as if they'd been in an endless car wreck and that they hurt from head to toe. I expect the same from this game. Big, tough, strong kids hitting with everything they have for 60 minutes. I think it may be like Ali/Frazier III - not so much someone winning, but just surviving.

Not really. All the Bama fans I know realize this is going to be a war between two good teams and either is capable of winning. It's this 5% who is just the most vocal and trolling the boards most often, thus appearing to be a MUCH larger portion of the fanbase. The vast majority of our fans think you'd do fine in the SEC and that this is going to be a close game.

I would also agree with the 5% number. I know one person who is predicting 42-14. Everybody else is saying Bama by 10 or less. These 95% also admit it could go either way.
