Jamel James' brother confirms that the Texas RB has decommitted from #NotreDame. "He had to do what he had to do."

IDK anything about Arkansas's class, but I wonder if Bielema will reach out to him. Seems like a Wisconsin type of back.

Edit: Looks like I wasn't far off:

I was just looking at those Bettis highlighs and almost fell on the floor with the FLA TD's. Lets call Steve Spurrier up, go over with a good bottle and talk better competition.

As far as Mr. James; best of luck to you sir, and thanks for your consideration!

Ark's main target at RB is Bama commit Tenpenny, but I am sure they will look into James again if that doesn't work/

I was really looking forward to seeing him put some defenders on the ground in pass protection in the future. Good luck to him wherever he ends up! (hopefully Washington, would love to see him punishing USC defenders still)

Best of luck Jamel. You are going to be a stud at the next level. Sorry things didn't work out with Notre Dame.

He would be so perfect for the offense Bilema runs.

So does this mean we have four spots left?

AQM, Redfield, Folston, and Hollins?

I know we all saw this coming due to his grades but this is the most relaxed i have ever seen a thread about a kid de-commiting. Bryant and Folston certainly help.

If this happened 2 years ago this board would have been losing its mind. As the great Bob Dylan said " the times they are a changin"

JJ sounds like a quality young man who just didn't meet admission standards. I am unaware of him ever bashing ND or of leading Notre Dame on. We should act with just as much class. I, for one, would have loved to have seen him wearing Blue and Gold. He has a ton of talent. It didn't work out. Let's leave it at that.

It is amazing how much difference a year makes! I would have been freaking out but now it is just another spot for some other 4-5 star recruit to fill! :)

Amen to the aforementioned sentiments, in that I wish him so much luck.

I'll be pulling for the kid.

I'd love to see him in the Maryland-I someday.

We have 7 spots left and most seem to think we will be taking 4 5th years: Z. Martin, Watt, Fox, and Calabrese... That leaves us with 3 spots for recruits.

The interesting question is if Redfield, AQM, and Folston commit, then an ELITE talent like Vanderdoes wants in, does the staff say good-bye to Calabrese (or Fox) in favor of a new freshman?

Obviously, if a transfer or medical hardship happens, then these numbers will change.

My guess would be Carlo doesn't get asked back in that case, but I think it would have to be a too-good-to-pass-up recruit like Vanderdoes. Anything less and I just don't see it happening.

I would agree. Carlo would have to go if a 4th too good to pass up recruit wants in. Vanderdoes would certainly fit that bill but you never know who might start showing interest in ND from out of the blue...recruiting is a strange process and the #1 FBS academic team winning a NC could turn some elite heads, kids we thought were gone long ago.

That's interesting, I thought he would be perfect at Arkansas. Good luck to him either way.
