Getting back to recruiting...
Is there now a decent (if not good) chance that we do not end up with a RB at all in this class?
- James might be having dreams of being "Jamie Football" (You belong with the Mob, Jamel!) . . .
- Folston may be waiting for UF or FSU to offer . . .
- Clement is comitted to Wisconsin . . .
I sure hope that Cierre Wood comes back, otherwise we will be relying on Carlisle (4 star), GAII (4 star), Mahone (4 stars), and McDaniel (3 stars). #BCSProblems
I'm still not sure whether James is a serious flight risk. And if he does decommit, then, given the scholarship crunch (maybe just two spots left (for AQM and Redfield), plus James's) I'm not sure whether we'd 1) look to replace James with another RB, 2) go after a best-available-player, or 3) go after a player in a thinner position group. If the first, I think we could still get K. Muhammad, even if Folston turns us down and Clement has moved on. If the second, maybe Treadwell (not looking good) or someone who shows interest late. If the third, maybe Ogundeko or another DL.
Realistically, I don't think we need an RB in this class. As DN said, we have plenty of talent at the position; plus, it's all very young. Carlisle has three years left, Atkinson and McDaniel have two, and Mahone has four. No reason we can't hold off on adding another RB till 2014.
One other note: we were talking above about Massa and his status. I noticed he was on the participation chart against Wake. I didn't notice him out there but apparently he is at least healthy enough to get on the field in garbage time.
