I went to Alabama and love college football, I hope you win next week and we will meet in Miami. I want hard-nosed defense and running the ball instead of playing Arena football. Congrats on a great season. May we play a good clean game with no injuries and both teams playing to their potentials. RTR.

Right idea, wrong thread.

Welcome! Try the BCS 2012 thread, or the Who do you want to play thread! Stick around, have fun. I think most here on the board would love to play Bama! IMO, the two best histories in CFB.

Getting back to recruiting...

Is there now a decent (if not good) chance that we do not end up with a RB at all in this class?

- James might be having dreams of playing with "Johnny Foozball" (You belong with the Mob, Jamel!) . . .

- Folston may be waiting for UF or FSU to offer . . .

- Clement is comitted to Wisconsin . . .

If so, I sure hope that Cierre Wood comes back, otherwise we will be relying on Carlisle (4 star), GAII (4 star), Mahone (4 stars), and McDaniel (3 stars). #BCSProblems

IMO Carlisle (4 star), GAII (4 star), Mahone (4 stars), and McDaniel (3 stars) is not a bad spot at all. I too would want 1 more in the fold however don't think this is a "BCSProblem."

Pretty sure he meant it ironically. Like "BCS championship team" problems.

I'm still not sure whether James is a serious flight risk. And if he does decommit, then, given the scholarship crunch (maybe just two spots left (for AQM and Redfield), plus James's) I'm not sure whether we'd 1) look to replace James with another RB, 2) go after a best-available-player, or 3) go after a player in a thinner position group. If the first, I think we could still get K. Muhammad, even if Folston turns us down and Clement has moved on. If the second, maybe Treadwell (not looking good) or someone who shows interest late. If the third, maybe Ogundeko or another DL.

Realistically, I don't think we need an RB in this class. As DN said, we have plenty of talent at the position; plus, it's all very young. Carlisle has three years left, Atkinson and McDaniel have two, and Mahone has four. No reason we can't hold off on adding another RB till 2014.

One other note: we were talking above about Massa and his status. I noticed he was on the participation chart against Wake. I didn't notice him out there but apparently he is at least healthy enough to get on the field in garbage time.

I was trying to be funny with the #BCSprobz- always dangerous.

Still, while that depth chart is not very worrisome, especially with other guys like Neal (and even Kinlaw) on the team, I think we need to add one good RB this year. Only Mahone strike me as a true RB in that group. So if we whiff this year it will be RB by a very talented committee next year.

Yeah, he was out there on the last few plays of the game. I noticed him (#14) and totally forgot that he was even on the roster...

Well got the huge win last night and the big west coast recruiting trip about to start! Monday is huge for Mad Max but who else is expected to be visited by Kelly?

The other big day should be approaching rapidly and that is the banquet. What day is that and aside from say AQM, who else is expected to be there? With this kind of momentum I could possibly be passed out on the coach by noon on signing day all wastey faced!

Agreed, aside from Max and Moore I don't see very many prospects for 13' with high interest.

He will probably head to see Priest Willis too. Someone will most probably see Mattingly too.

This coaching staff is always double checking on commitments and prospects.

I forget where but i read somewhere that much of the staff is hitting the trail after the game and they plan to visit just about everyone still on the radar at all from what it sounded like, even some guys we stand little chance at

Brian Kelly's recruiting pitch this week will be a 115 mph fastball. "Want to play for a title? Want an elite degree? Great. We offer both

Ummm, let's hope they don't capture that moment as part of the Signing Day recap.

I believe Mattingly was/is visiting UCLA this weekend. I'm anxious to see how hard line of a stance ND is going to take with him.
