Can't let it get to us. I'm sure there are dozens of "jinxes" that have been brought against us this year and we've overcome them all. Just do what we've been doing and move on to the NCG.

Guess I'm gonna have to go buy this one. I stole the one with Manti on the cover from my doctor's office.

"The Notre Dame Miracle" - I wonder what slant this article will take.

That's awesome. Feels like the universe is back in alignment. And Latin makes everything cooler.

That said, there's got to be one or two hardcore Catholics taking a little offense over calling a football team the "Miracle of Notre Dame"...

Quick note regarding SI cover jinx: game after Manti Te'o appeared on SI cover he led ND with 10 tackles in 41-3 win vs. Miami

Ok since everyone is talking about jinxes I'm going to spill the beans on how this magical season has unfolded in such spectacular fashion and the rock solid anti-jinx. First a little background.

So, all four of my brothers and I were standout players on our high school football teams. We consistently played in and or won championships and beat "better teams" with a team comprised of a lights out defense, a smash mouth running game and erratic QB play. Sound familiar? We all also happen to be life long ND fans.

So this year me and two of my brothers were lucky enough to score free tickets to the Purdue game, a first for any of us. The Friday before the game the one brother who is the only confirmed catholic of the bunch lights a candle at the grotto for his family and ND football.

I made a return trip with one of the same brothers and another one for the Pitt game when we scored free tickets for that as well. Coincidence? You decide. Go Irish!

Ugh....hardcore anythings are annoying, but hardcore religious people are especially horrible. If you're going to get offended by this, I recommend throwing away your computer and TV, shutting your blinds and never again communicating with the outside world.

I can't see to find the picture of the cover

I saw it before but now I can't.

Was a close up of a raised ND helmet with a photoshopped "reflection" of touchdown Jesus on the helmet. Was nicely done.

Lol, I'm kind of offended that they called our football team a miracle, and it has nothing to do with religion. Maybe I'm being over-sensitive, but is that implying that we aren't really as good as our record? 100 guys working their asses off all spring and summer to get better is not a miracle. We are winning because we have a defense that's rock-solid and an offense that's improving due to great coaching and hard work. Where's the miracle?

You beat me to it. I was going to mention that Manti blew the cover jinx out the window.

I think you're being a little sensitive.

It's been a hell of a long time since we've been here, ND is a Catholic university, nobody thought that this schedule would allow us to be in this position, and everything fell perfectly into place last week (with insane underdog victories.)

I think that's what they're going for.

I am very devout and don't find myself all that horrible. I'm sure what you mean to find annoying are people who intend to find controversy and something to complain about in just about anything. And while some people might mistakenly or purposefully, for the sake of controversy, equate, and be offended by a confusing of, a miracle season for a football team named after Notre Dame with a Notre Dame miracle of the more heavenly type, I think this phenomenon has much more to do with just being a logically-impaired/irritating person than it has to do with being especially religious.
