I know what he meant by "Greenberry'd", and it is still an inaccurate term. There were academic issues that would have never allowed Greenberry to be at ND, same as Tee.

Even so, how long are we going to take bashing from ALLTROLL?

Oh really?? I never knew that.

Wow, so all that stuff about Greenberry wanting to go his own way and not wanting to blindly follow Tee and feeling more comfortable at Houston was bullsh!t? That changes my whole view of the situation.

Not the first time, nor will it be the last time, that a recruit says something in public when the reality is something much different for perception's purposes lol.

I really don't think that bashing. Had he used an example of someone other than a Notre Dame recruit who flipped late would you have known what he was talking about.

Honestly, I get annoyed that every time ALLGATOR says something on here that anyone takes the wrong way the thread spirals out of control for 20 posts about how he is a troll, should be banned, and so on. If you think he is trolling, neg rep him and report the post. If you think he is trolling then why would you start talking about it and let the trolling take effect? ALLGATOR brings a much different perspective to this board that many often find useful and, whatever you may think, he genuinely likes Notre Dame. Does he troll sometimes, probably. The Florida #1 defense post was trolling in my opinion. But, I never think he is maliciously trolling. It always seems more tongue in cheek and playful.

Anyway, that's my piece. If everyone disagrees then neg rep me or PM me or do whatever you feel like you need to do. I'm just tired of every ALLGATOR post being treated like it's an ESPN backhanded jab at us (which by the way we need to relax on too).

On film Allen seems like more of an outside WR and LaRue like more of an inside WR. Obviously we are recruiting one more Z WR/RB: Folston. I wonder if LaRue is a backup plan in case we miss on Folston?

Now I'm wondering if we could even take both Folston (or LaRue) and Treadwell. It's maddening to not know exactly how many spots we have.

I can't see us taking more than 1 offensive skill player at this point.

I was thinking the same. Allen seemed more like an outside guy to me. I never saw the shiftiness from him that we want from a Z.

It would be great to get that combo. Nice bow on the package at the end of the cycle.

3 seems to be the number. Obviously depends on the Mattingly, but I'd go with the assumption that it will probably be 2-3 spots if Danny stays, 3-4 if he goes.

Agree with this. AQM seems like a lock for a spot, Redfield could very well be another, leaving room for another best available that will likely be a skill player.

That seems right. So if Mattingly stays it would be, at most:
-AQM
-Redfield (or Moore or a safety/CB hybrid)
-a playmaker (Treadwell, Folston or LaRue).

Ugh, it gets messy when you start going through the possibilities, especially for the playmaker spot. What if Folston gets back from Oregon and decides no school can offer what we offer and decides he wants to commit to us on Monday? Would we take him, even though right now we have as good a shot at Treadwell as anybody?

I guess there's no sense worrying about an imminent commit though, as the staff obviously isn't, or they wouldn't have invited LaRue out for a visit.

This is where it gets tricky. There are several coveted recruits (Redfield, Treadwell, Folston) with whom we have as good a shot as anybody, but on whom we could just as easily, if not more easily, end up missing.

I think if Folston wanted in, he would be. I also think that we have moved on from LJ Moore after getting Cole Luke. They only players (barring a decommit) that we would take immediate commits from now are Redfield, AQM, Treadwell, Folston, Willis and Mac Alexander, although I think we don't have a shot really with the last 2.

Folston is the only one of that group that could commit soon.

I'm pretty confident about AQM and Redfield. So we're basically down to Treadwell, LaRue, and Folston for the last spot. I assume the first one to pull the trigger gets in, and I'm fine with that.

Meaning he doesn't have the grades to get in anyway...so why bother with the trip?

don't see us taking him even if he wants in...most likely a WR for us and not elite enough or an immediate outside presence that we need to use up another spot...just my opinion.

Any particular reason or insight above what's been discussed to make you feel that way?
