offer list gives the better gauge, as usual.

I was going to say the same thing. When he has ND, Bama, Florida, FSU, Michigan offering this tells me something.

I love getting one from Bama. We're closing the gap quickly.

Eh, I'm thinking the fact that he's going to be on the defensive side, and Diaco having obviously the upper-hand in regards to defensive knowledge, I think it's just by default that Diaco finished off the recruiting.

Diaco is from NJ and his recruiting territory is the N.E.

Diaco recruited OL John Montelus from MA, and RB Corey Clement, and WRs from NJ. He courted LB Ogundeko from Brooklyn this cycle.

Does this mean that he has an early claim to take over Louis' show? Have to re-titled of course to whatever he gets nicknamed

Me too. We are pretty much the same.

I can't stress enough how huge a pick-up this is! Recruiting is so fun to follow when things are going this well! Diaco is definitely becoming a recruiting legend and what's even better is his defense's will be legendary when all is said and done!

He is elite. This staff is kicking it!

I should have worded better, I didn't mean to take anything away from the young man. His ability to be top ten on both the offensive and defensive lines makes him elite in his own right.

My point, which I did a bad job of getting across, was that the staff can focus on other elite prospects that lack as much versatility as Jay has. That way, if they land a guy that is strictly a NG, Jay can play DE (or possibly OL if the coaches feel more depth is needed). On the flip side, if they miss on a stud that is strictly a NG, Jay can bulk up and fill the need.

Getting this kid to pop, in a area of weakness is a good sign. Btw it seems they are building a ny pipe line, and him being from NY is a bonus.

Poly Prep has some impressive underclassmen. It'd behoove ND to develop a pipeline there.

He's only a junior in High School and he is already 6'5" and 275 lbs.

I love the versatility on him that he can play either on the offensive or defensive line.

Keep up the recruiting Kelly

GO IRISH!

He could be a very good offensive tackle as well with his feet, build and demeanor.

After watching that video, I retract my statement about him being a NT. Kid has Tuitt or Kap written all over him.

On the front page under 2014 commits it states he is from Indiana.

Not to mention the link takes users to the Justin Brent page.

ND didn't burn Stanley's freshman year.

Also, it seems likely that Hayes will play defense.

This would be an awesome addition if he holds true to the Irish. Can't have enough of these types...the pillars of championships.

props to Eric Olsen for his help on Jay's recruitment. Would i be right in saying that its probably one of the first instances of a "Weis" guy helping out in such a way in the BK era? (Not including Grimes of course)

i could have sworn we went thru this in the stanley thread and consensus ended up that he did in fact burn his freshman yr. would love to be wrong here but verdict was one play and yr is lost as long as he wasnt injured (anyway congrats to Jay on joining the ND family!)

I really like listening or reading this kid's interviews. Seems to always have a very positive attitude.
