I wonder how OU schemes for Golson. Teams are going to have to start looking out for that extra element he brings. Especially if he remains throw first and does a good job with his progressions (at least the one and two). I'd say he is at least one of the more athletic qb's they have faced.

Very true, as stated by many OU and ND fans, he has a chance to become the "X factor" of the game. Coming off a concussion, I'd be worried about him running and getting hit. Last year, we knocked FSU's EJ Manuel out of the game pretty good. We also injured Texas's David Ash two weeks ago. This is not a source of pride or anything, just pointing it out.

Yeah.

Again, that was 2009. BYU's 5th year seniors in 2012 were redshirt freshmen in 2009.

Only reason I brought it up is because he's coming off an injury.

And only reason Sammy was brought up before was because your brethren mocked ND for playing BYU. Coincidentally, ND beat BYU last time they played them, OU did not.

No, they mocked you for calling BYU a good opponent this year. They are average at best. You (or whoever the poster was) claimed that BYU was indeed a good team because they injured Sam Bradford out 3 years ago.

That 2009 Sooner squad (by far the most injury plagued team I've ever witnessed as a Sooner fan) went 8-5. They barely lost to BYU even after the top QB in the nation went down and was replaced by redshirt freshman Landry Jones. That 2009 BYU team wasn't a world beater either (went 11-2), but they were probably better than the 2012 BYU Cougs (currently 4-4).

I personally don't care if you talk about a Sam Bradford injury from 3 years ago. He's got a lot of money in the bank and is representing the university very well to this day. But to say that the BYU Cougs 2012 team is legit because of it is just silly.

Herbstreit said that for Notre Dame to win the offense is going to have to play at a level that it hasn't played at all year against an improving Oklahoma defense.

I think that sums it up pretty well.

He's spot on. If the offense can put up 28 or more, we win this game.

I haven't read this entire thread but out of curiosity, how is OU's O-line? I fear that our secondary could be exposed if we're unable to get considerable pressure on Jones.

Question for OU posters: How has OU's rebuilt offensive line performed thus far? Did their continuing development contribute to a slow start? Have they had to play against any elite defensive fronts this year that have NFL (draft-able) talent?

Thank in advance for responses

It seems to me we are having more guests this year than previous years. I think that's good.

Haven't been on long enough to notice a trend, but I would imagine that would be due to the season obviously. I joined the morning after UM game last year b/c I was lost as a human being. IE picked me up and dusted me off!

havent seen this many opposing team posters for one single game in all my time here. We have a few resident Skunkbears but i think its a good sign as far a relevance.

i wonder if the post game from this one breaks the all time users record set this February during what i think was a recruiting fiasco. hahahah given that most previous records happen after losses, i guess i hope this record stands for a LONG time

Hello Irish!

Hello Irish!

I can't wait for the game Saturday. You guys will be treated well and it'll be a party in all directions around the stadium for several hours! I'm bringing a good buddy of mine; who's a lifelong Notre Dame fan, to his first game Saturday! His first game is OU/ND! He has no idea what he's in for. Ready to talk about the game.

This had to come up sooner or later:

And as counterpoint (There's a musical pun in there):

Gary's not South Bend but it's close. Ron Howard isn't Gordon MacRae either, but what the hell ...
