You're playing with my emotions...
Because you're in love with Gunner?

Is it true we likely don't have any room for A. Muhammad? I wonder if our staff regrets any of the early commitments they took... I'd assume not, but there sure are some studs out there I think they wish they had room for one way or another. They sure do look smart though the way they held off on Tre Bell, etc.
It's funniest to me because this is likely what last year's class was intended to do... but we didn't win games.
I obviously can't speak for TP, but something tells me based on things many have said about AM in the last week or so and the way TP often comes out and says things (without actually saying them, i.e. making you read between the lines), that AM may already be factored into the numbers/slots.
Of course I could be wrong. But that's the way I took it.
^^Don't tease me here. I can feel wood.
Better be your own, dude!
Fact: Gunner sticks it out at least one more year. You dont transfer bc you redshirt your freshman year. Next year he could be one play away from playing. He can look at options 3rd year.
Fact: ND is at a scholly crunch
Fact: ND is playing it perfect. Giving Hawkins the ball in his court is a beautiful way to play it. Either way they get a read on him and can go from there. If he brings his family....Hes irish. ND already sold his family on the class of the program and deepened the relationship.
Fact: The only players kicking a 5th year out are Redfield, Mackensie, Willis, Treadwell.
Examples:
1.Hawkins commits tomorrow...They still go after MacKensie/Willis
2. Mackensie/Willis commit tomorrow...CB is done. You still recruit Hawkins/Moore but they know the writing on the wall.
Then you still have room for Best Available. aka Treadwell/Willis...if not...shut it down.
Fact: Timing is everything, and you know the staff isnt going to pressure any kid....but the kids they are recruiting are kids that 1. Are committed elsewhere
2. Elite talent
3. Icing on the cake to a great class already.
4. You dont get the kid it sucks, but not going to cripple the class.
Fact: Theres a scenario where they can get 4...but like as previously mentioned it will take transfers/medical/5th years and the right players. You dont mess with 5th years bc they are too valuable. The 5th year kids that arent going to be there next year have already been factored in ... then theres kids on the edge that if that right combo arises ... you got that degree and thanks for 4 good years. But it will also create depth problems if they are careful. Tausch...you need...Brindza cant be the only kicker on the roster. Carlo you will need for leadership with 5 frosh arriving and has gotten better.
I'll bet TP means exactly who he says here... and Carlo HAS gotten better to my utter amazement. And there is nothing in TP's statement that says Carlo but NOT Dan; I'm assuming both are wanted by the staff to stay.
Carlo is beyond useless in coverage and his tackling leaves a lot to be desired. If that's with improvement, then that's just sad for a senior.

I like carlo, but that is funny and i agree. I got bashed, but if councell can grow into a starter at dog i saynmove spond and let carlo/fox go if willis and redfield etc wants in...jmho.
Spond's not an ILB. He's a better coverage LB, coming off the edge. He's not a run stuffer than can drop back and cover the underneath routes like the WILL needs to do.
I respectfully disagree. Spond is bigger, faster, and stronger than carlo. Spond is a better tackler and would free up a scholly to boot. I only would consider itmif councell solidifies dog capabilities.
Not sure that's actually true.
Besides, Tuitt and Heggie are also definitely bigger and probably stronger than Carlo, but I don't want them playing ILB.
Spond SEEMS to have the size and make up to play Will, but that doesn't always transfer properly to reality.
Don't get me wrong, I like the idea (particularly with the scholarship crunch ND is facing for this cycle and players/needs still on the board) of moving Spond over to Will and letting BC, RO, and JS duke it out at Dog...on paper. This idea sounds great, but the reality of Spond's ability may not make it such a great thing to actually implement.
I'm hoping that you meant Fox.
I think Fox is just an obvious ask back so he didn't mention him. Carlo went into the season uncertain. If he keeps playing like the last couple of games, don't see why you wouldn't want him back next year. Incoming freshman will need a year or two to gel and being good every year is the goal.
Regarding OMM's comment, I'm also shocked that Carlo has come on like this But I'm also shocked by Russell, Farley, Zeke, TJ Jones, DD, etc. Starting to feel all the talk of BK and staff being player developers might have some truth to it! It's more than just getting another year of seasoning. They look like completely different players - or players that went from no experience to top-tier type contributions. Now.... if we could just get this done at QB soon.
So you guys are willing to trade 3/4 years of a player like Mack for 1 more year of Carlo???
The trade off is more like a sophomore in 2014 versus a freshman in 2014, there is no reason to believe we won't bring in plenty of talent down the road. Now look at that position in particular, we have a loaded LB class coming in but will they be on the level of Carlo or Fox next year?
At ILB I think losing Teo is bad enough, relying on freshmen to fill the void is dangerous, no matter the talent level. Look at Teo as a freshman? Would he have benefited from a fifth year senior like Fox or Calabrese sharing time with him? Absolutely.
We will also be playing to win in 2013, very few freshmen are equipped to come in day one and start.
