This is probably the reason ND or coach Kelly couldn't get Barkley, RG3, Luck, Sam Bradford, Big Ben, Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers....All used laces like a bunch of children...lol

EG=Charlie Ward just watch

Been saying that since the first time I saw him. I think at this point in his development he has more upside with his arm than Charlie, and Charlie seemed to have a little more wiggle, but he is still very very green. Going to be fun watching him grow and then go 100%. This is no dig on Charlie Ward, for the record I thought it was criminal that he wasn't drafted early in the NFL, and love his determination to stand by his belief that he was not being properly valued by the league and thus exercising his right and his immense talent to pursue another sport which he was also very very good at.

Last night was the most accurate I've seen him. Ball was right where it needed to be on almost every throw.

Loved the read option last night. I don't expect it to be used that much, if at all do to Stanfords D but we'll see. Stanford can't handle speed so I hope we use him.

Is it me or is Everett having a hard time seeing the middle of the field. If we have any numbers junkies on here I would love to them to figure out his target charts(Left, Center, Right) I really think he's having a hard time seeing over the lineman. Too short

That could be he case, I think he's just having a hard time getting through his progressions correctly while in the pocket

I think that's part of it along with he feels more comfortable reading a corner and using his arm strength to get it to the outside then reading the middle of the field (more crowded, bigger risk)

The middle of the field is the most dangerous as there are lb's sitting back in coverage and safeties are generally around there

No Really!?!?! when did defenses start doing that??

Well u asked the question...its a much harder read because there are less chances of 1 on 1 matchups...tighter Window which goes again back to having a hard time getting through progressions...

It's because even when he tucks the ball it is not high and tight.

If his hands are below average in size that can make a difference as well. I thought he struggled more than you average bear with the wet conditions, wobbly passes and whatnot.

No excuse for a QB his size to lower his pads once he gets a first down, slide or get out of bounds!

I am pretty sure it has been discussed that he has unusually large hands for his size.

Did you see his pump fakes with a wet ball? I think his hands are pretty big and strong. Hence the reason why he doesn't need laces.

I agree with this. Not to mention look at that picture! There is no way he can even pump with the ball where it is. Not to mention, I don't care how strong his hands are, if a defender gets his hands on the ball where it is he's not going to be able to hang on to it. Get that ball up and slide/get out of bounds!

Our QBs found new and innovative ways to drob/fumble the ball last year. Everett still has a lot to learn but has been doing better than expected for a first year starter!
