My prediction, ND 31 - SU 6

I think this is the most lop-sided I've ever seen this.

I was a little surprised, too. But maybe Sehorn is sour about Stanford beating his alma matter and is pumping the Irish against the Tree. I couldn't really argue with the analysis, especially the part about which Stanford team is going to show up in South Bend? I believe ND can go toe-to-toe with the Cardinal on both sides but, I tell you, if Stanford pulls it all together tomorrow, the Irish are going to have a long day.

2 minute mark.

Hard to say if Russell influenced but I think receiver def. still could have made a play.

That was pretty good coverage. He even hit the arm of the receiver as they went down.

I'm hearing that Golson and Farley had a really good week, among others. This is going to be an exciting game.

Great news! Those are two guys who need to grow up in a hurry this year.

Notes:

Chris Hawkins and Max Redfield are both current USC commits. Both have been planning on visiting the Irish for some time.
Savaiinaea is a soft verbal to Stanford. The 2013 class for the Cardinal has been slowly falling apart, and some think that he could be the next decommitment.
Unofficial Visitors (13):

Committed Players (6)

OT Steve Elmer - Midland, MI (Midland)

OT Colin McGovern - New Lenox, IL (Lincoln Way West)

OLB Jaylon Smith - Fort Wayne, IN (Bishop Luers)

DE Jacob Matuska - Columbus, OH (Bishop Hartley)

Notes:

Bunting is listed at 6'7"/205 and is getting attention from several Big Ten programs
Mister has visited Notre Dame several times and could be the next 2014 verbal commitment
Dawkins and Rosene are team mates and attend the same high school as former QB Jimmy Clausen
Googer plays QB in high school but is being recruited to play WR by most programs
Roberts transferred to Carmel from a school in Tampa, FL when his father took the WR coaching job with the Indianapolis Colts

How is everyone dressing for the game?

Last I saw it is suppose to be colder now (only 50s as opposed to 60s), but the chance of rain has dropped back to 40%. All according to Weather.com

U gotta think Stanford is going to go aal out to stop our run. We have proved that if you put a safety on Tyler to double we will pound u to a pulp and then bury u some more. I think Tyler breaks out for 10 +catches 150+ yds and 2 TDs . Go Irish!!,!,!,!!,!,!,

Weather bug is telling me highs in upper 60's with 10-20 mph winds. Chance of rain 60%.

I don't want this to come off wrong, I've always been a proponent of ND's choice of hiring him... but am I alone feeling that BK has really become Notre Dame's football coach lately?

I say that because I haven't felt this kind of excitement and trust in a coach since the good ol' days of the early 90's.

I'm not trying to compare Coach Kelly to anyone that has come before him, merely saying that there's an air of fight and toughness to this team that we haven't seen since the last time we were on top of the world.

I've always been a rabid fan, but it's nice to feel that feeling again. No matter if we win or lose, we're on our way back to our rightful place... and doing it the right way.

GO IRISH!!!!!

EDIT: Did I just hear Coach correctly in the pep rally? He called an ND victory?!

Whoa

I agree completely. I think it's pretty undeniable that Notre Dame is finally headed in the right direction, and that the program is light years ahead of anywhere it's been in the past 15 years. I think it's also pretty clear that most of this has been the doing of Kelly and his staff. He and the team just seem to have a focus that I've never seen at Notre Dame, considering I wasn't alive when Holtz was doing his thing.

I can't rep this enough...

Excellent point Jug, BK has helped transform (so far) nearly a decade of mess left by the other guys...

Not only does have guys like Diaco, Alford, Elston, and Booker, but he has helped integrate things like music in the stadium, practices in the stadium, the training table, Longo and his infamous beach

Then add that to the fact that ND is doing the alternate uniforms and playing internationally (if only for one game)

In essence, I truly feel like BK has began to turn this program around, and at the same time, make ND "cool" again...

Anybody else notice that Notre Dame has only thrown three touchdown passes all year? Check this out:

YEAR: PASSING . RUSHING

2004: 17 . 16
2005: 32 . 21
2006: 37 . 13
2007: 12 . 9
2008: 26 . 11
2009: 30 . 13
2010: 28 . 11
2011: 21 . 25
2012: 8 . 34

Projected through 13 games. It's 3 and 13 right now.

Jesus Christ was 2007 a weak year. :(

With 13 rushing touchdowns, that's already more or equal than all of 2010, 2009, 2008, 2007, and 2006. The Irish were pretty inept and running the ball this decade.

If the rain holds off and Irish can run consistently, then the Irish should win easily. After watching the Cardinals come back from 6 Friday night, I am holding off on an actual score prediction. I just feel a lot better about this team than any in the last decade, at least.

GO IRISH!!!

I will also probably miss part of the game as I will be down in AL visiting family right about the time that the game is going on, so I may miss the entire game, to be honest. So I hope for the best, most complete game the Irish have had and a comfortable victory. But nothing is ever easy in sports. My Cardinals retaught me that lesson last night.

I have to agree. He had a shaky start his first year, and last year wasn't much better, but he's really turned things around this year with the help of the other coaches. On top of bringing back a respectable defense to this team he's trying to break away from some old tradition. Thats not necessarily a bad thing, you can still have tradition and add some flair/excitement. These current classes weren't even alive the last time we won a championship, Notre Dame has been nothing but a history lesson.

BK and Swarbrick are bringing excitement back to the program and bringing it into modern times with music on the loudspeakers, asking people to be loud and stand up, uniforms to attract new recruits, expanding our recruiting footprint with the ACC move, possible turf, and maybe jumbotron. I like the direction we're going, this program was starting to feel like a dying breed, they're bringing some life back.

Winning does a lot for Kelly fitting into the role. I also think he toned down his tirades on the sideline, which helped.

As for Corso: I played on a team he coached for one year before transferring to ND. The guy is a used car salesman. Not a terrible human being, just a guy who is up to his ears in bullspit.
