I couldn't give a **** about the media. If we're 8-0 they will be sitting in our lap

If that's the case, I've got dibs on Alex "Scooter" Flanagan...

I could die a happy man.

there were more than a few who were calling for 6-7 wins and saying that is realistic... I wonder if they are revising their "realistic prediction."

Still on pace for my 10-2 prediction. OU and U$C are my two losses, but ill tell you what, we can beat both of those teams. Neither of them are automatic losses.

I'm not predicting anything. I've decided to take this season like the players. Next week I relax a bit. But, it's all focus on Miami, getting Golson more comfortable, and starting to work Tate Nichols into the right side of the OL. Great time for a bye.

10-2 is very attainable, but not the way we think. Good news: USC & OU come across as very beatable after their respective upsets. Bad news: Pitt & Stanford (especially Stanford) look stronger than expected after their big wins over ranked opponents. I was telling other IE posters that they were sweating Trees too hard. Now, I'm more on guard, even though I think we are still the better team. If ND gets the offense rolling, we are 10-2 at least.

Out of OK, Stanford, and USC, who do you think is the most beatable?

I'd say:

1) Stanford - at home.
2) USC
3) OK

Our D should kill BYU's O. There QB is like Denard Robinson minus the play making ability and insane wheels.

We can compete with everyone left for sure. If the O shows up we can beat em all. If not we lose to USC. Still not sure about Stanford (need to see them play more).

I am lousy at predictions, but since this isn't very serious:

a]. I thought that we'd be 3 [USN/Purdue/UofM] & 1 [MSU] at this point, but held out a decent shot at 4-0 due to our amazing recent ability to shut MSU right down.

b]. In the middle third, I thought that we'd win two or three --- Miami for sure, BYU pretty sure, Oklahoma fairly sure [WHAT you say??!! Well, I have noticed since last season how mediocre Landry Jones has been without his stud receiver, and then they lost 39 players off the O-Line in practice pre-season --- for the emotionally-challenged, please disregard the "39", it was a creative gimmick]. Similarly to MSU, I held out hope for a win over Stanford in a defensive slugfest. But those ba$tards seem to be awfully darned good. Let's say [now] 7-1.

c]. For the last third of the season, I originally thought two losses --- why, because someone always surprises. Now I think that Coach has the team finishing, and we'll give Pitt enough of a thugging that we'll win three. I still think that the beachbums will get interested at season's end and we'll lose one there in Hollywood. So now it would be 10-2. Pre-season it was 9-3 or 8-4 {MSU/USC/ Mystery/ Stanford?} [because I did not and do not "believe" in Oklahoma.]

I'll take 10-2. Would be a great year for our schedule.

third time and I'll say the same thing I said in the beginning.

11-1

I don't need no stinking revision.

With our SoS, 10-2 definitely lands us in a BCS bowl.

I thought 9-3 before the season, being optimistic.
I thought 9-3 after MSU, being realistic.
I still think 9-3 today, being pessimistic, at least until I see our offense score more points against a quality opponent.
But unlike a month ago I think we're capable of beating anyone on our schedule. Which is nice.

With our SoS, 10-2 definitely lands us in a BCS bowl.

It would be helpful if MSU (or Michigan or Purdue but I think MSU is more likely) makes a lot of noise in the Big 10. And if whichever of the Stanford/OU/USC trio we beat is in serious contention for a conference title.
I'd agree 10-2 should get us to the BCS, but I fear our schedule won't look as tough at the end of the season as it did at the start.

After seeing thousands of Facebook posts about the NFL and very few about College Football, this is my favorite picture of all-time.

I remember thinking USC looked pretty beatable last year before Barkley lit us up. That said, if we can navigate this schedule to 11-0, the power of Te'o alone could will this team to perfection.

Bold prediction......if we are 12-0 Manti will win the Heisman, regardless of stat line. His spirit and story is too powerful.

But I do believe we are outside looking in if Bama and Oregon are undefeated.

1) USC
2) Stan
3) OU
4) Miami
5) BYU
6) Pitt
7) BC
8) WF

With a healthy Khalid Holmes, USC beats SU. Solid list.

ND can beat any of them but any of the first 6 could win as well. 13 points isn't going to be enough.

My original season prediction was 8-5. I'm really trying to stay cautious and I think 9-3 is were we will be when the dust settles.

That said we obviously haven't seen everything our offense is capable of. Both times we really needed it to come through it did with shining colors as we were able to run the clock out against michigan and march down the field against purdue to kick the game winning field goal. Other than that Golson and Rees have really only had to manage the game and our play calling has been very conservative. Until we run into a team that can actually get a lead on us we really won't know how far this team can go. Though I hope we don't have to find out. I"m just fine with our defense absolutely dominating.

I said 8-4 at the start of the year.

Games where they can lose (barring a major upset)
1) Stanford
2) BYU
3) Oklahoma
4) USC

I am going 9-3 but hoping I am wrong

Here's how I look at it... using some rough odds, our chance of beating each of the remaining opponents:

@USC 25%
@OU 40%
vs. Stanford 50%
vs. BYU 65%
vs. Miami 70%
vs. Pitt 75%
@BC 75%
vs. Wake Forest 95%

Those are pretty favorable odds to ND compared to what the bookmakers will give us. And that adds up to 4.95 wins... so I think a solid "expected finish" has us at 9-3. This basically includes 1 "upset" over teams better than us (Stanford, Oklahoma, USC) and 1 loss to a team "worse" than us.
