I looked but didn't see this anywhere else so I thought I would start a new thread to get everyone riled up! As if we needed any more reason... They shall pay with their blood! haha

Seriously though I hope this serves to get the boys a little extra fired up.

haha... how could you have possibly missed the other thread on this or the 3 threads that have extensive conversation regarding it? haha.

It's ok, it deserves to be mentioned as much as possible.

My Irish Envy rule of thumb: If it happened more than ten minutes ago and it's significant, it has been posted already.

That said, I agree with Wooly.

Edit: and 10 minutes is a stretch!

Haha my bad. To be fair when I first looked I was in between meetings and did so quickly. I guess I was blinded by rage after getting this damn email from my buddy who's a UofM grad. I mean this is like putting a Star and Crescent on the Western Wall!

The worst is when you search all the threads so you don't look like a dumbass and in the meantime, someone else posts the story and steals your thunder.

Kind of like posting new news about a specific player in the ND football thread, then getting lit up because it is already very visible and readily available, buried in the players recruiting thread from 2 or 3 years ago....

Not nagging, just sayin'... took me awhile to start looking in the recruiting thread for new player news

I don't always poke a sleeping giant, but when I do it's after I buy a UM banner from Wal-Mart.

This doesn't bother me at all. It bothered me when some b!tch-as$ USF fans spray-painted our hockey arena, though.

Yeah, this is my only real complaint about IE. Just dumb to have NEWS in a thread about the recruiting efforts of someone who is already on the team....

THIS^^^^ These are the kind of stunts that backfire on fanbases/teams in big games like the one taking place on Saturday night.

This not only adds that much more motivation for our Irish, but will make the win that much sweeter.

Do you not just go to the front page? If you do, you don't have to go "searching" for the thread. If there is recent news it will "magically" be on the front page, probably pretty close to the top.

That's true. I usually just go to irishenvy.com/forums, not the main page. At any rate, still think its weird to have new news about a player in his old recruiting thread. But I guess its for organizational purposes. The answer is probably way above my pay grade

I find it funny and immature. This will totally backfire and they will be humiliated looking back at this stunt after they are humiliated on the field.
I bet UM is pissed off that they did this.

I saw a picture floating around Twitter that ND students actually struck first last year... unfurled a banner in Ann Arbor that said something like "UM girls... so easy a caveman can do them" with a picture of the Geico gecko

EDIT: just saw the other thread. I am guilty. I am That Guy in this thread. My apologies.

They defaced the stadium? Seems a bit extreme

If this is the thing I saw this morning on facebook (just a banner that says something like "Go Blue / Beat the Irish") then I don't know that I would describe that as "defacing" the stadium. Nobody hates Michigan more than I do, and the sacredness of the stadium is not lost on me. But they didn't permanently or physically alter or damage it. This is pretty standard fair in rivalries, in my opinion. I think its kind of funny, really.

If anyone thinks this is what motivates players they are deluding themselves. It is just a silly, immature prank. Our guys don't need that kind of nonsense for motivation. A quick watch of the highlights of the last two games vs. the Denard led Wolverines will fire them up sufficiently. Respect them, focus on the task and finish them this time. 4-0 going into the bye week sounds good to me.

It was done tastefully without any damage to property unlike MSU and FSU players (field) and BC players (lockerroom) in the past. Kudos to those UM fans.

Robinson has rolled up almost 1000 yds of Total O in the past two games. He's 3-0 in last 30 second wins while Manti and Company are 0-3. If these players need motivation like an opponents banner hung in the night they should turn in their uniforms. Their job is to keep UM out of the end zone not keep UM fans out of the stadium.

After we beat them, we need to roll this through their home pep rally next year. Maybe update it with irish colors.

You hit a pet peeve of mine. Mind you, I appreciate all of the hard work that everyone puts into this site, but I do think there a too many places you have to search for information, posts, articles, etc.. It's not just this site either, companies have a tendancy to get too detailed when it comes to web sites. Then when you run a scan on the site you find out you wasted a lot of development time and money because most of the links are rarely accessed.

Like I said I do appreciate all of the time anmd effort put into this site.....thanks

Like it better when Tom Brady got stuck in Notre Dame stadium one day when he was still at Michigan. It is a true story.
