Of course you demolished their one dimensional offense. Everyone in the nation knows, stop leveon bell and force their sub par qb to row to their sub par receivers. Combine that with a sub par, beat up o-line, and you destroy them.

The thing is...bama did not beat us with sticking 8 in the box and rushing. They beat us with their incredible secondary. Our O-line allowed one sack...a coverage sack...against the best defense in the nation.

If diaco brings pressure, well you know the story...gorgeous Borges should be able to tale advantage of your defense trying to play the bama scheme due to your incredibly beat up secondary with misdirection. Seeing as how your lb have had trouble sealing the edges in the games I have watched this season, it at least gives us a chance.

Everyone in the nation knows to stop MSU you just stop Le'Veon Bell...everyone including Boise State and Central Michigan, right? It's one thing to KNOW it...it's another to DO it. ND did it. Just like everyone in the nation knows to beat Michigan all you have to do is stop Denard. Everyone KNOWS it...the question is: who can actually DO it?

The only concern I have about their D is all the crazy looks they show before the snap and the zone blitzes they run. T. Rees was great at reading it and getting us into plays that worked. If EG has problems with that I think it could be a problem for our O.

If this has been discussed I apologize.

Guys,

About the game and our d-line. We have eight guys to put on the field, now. I mean right now, that can put the pressure on by themselves against Michigan. They can put pressure on by themselves, and this year for the first time between conditioning and depth; they can stay fresh until the end of the game.

Last year we didn't have three. That is why we faded in the fourth. They got tired after playing around 38 two gap plays.

You can argue about whether they are elite, or not, but when I look at the guys that are out there (At other colleges and universities) and comparable to the Irish down dezers, well we have already played against about twenty percent of them. On point, Michigan has none of them. Not what ND has, not what MSU has, not what PU has.

So then look at our O-line like OMM is begging you to do. It is the deal. If they can block, ND can dynamically run against M all night long. I don't care who M has on the field. With two tight ends, CBreezy is going to be free to the endzone all night long.

And I have heard from a couple of songbirds, ND has a down-to-earth, viscious attitude this week.

Do you frequent scUM sites to see what they're saying about the game? If so its probably just tracking your cookies. Last month before we went to Vegas I was checking out deals on shows and then kept getting ads for Vegas on the front page here. Cleared my cookies and it stopped.

So thats why I keep seeing ads on penial reduction

Key to the game: Don't collapse. We dominated for 3 quarters last year, then collapsed. I don't doubt that we can dominate again. It has to be for FOUR QUARTERS.

I cannot handle another loss to this team (my alma mater) either. Always have a sick feeling in my stomach before this game, which is compounded this year due to loss in 2011.

Yes, you executed your game plan to stop msu perfectly, no argument there...but the gameplan to stop Michigan's offense and Denard is at the complete opposite end of the spectrum (if borges is smart, BIG if), and we have not see you play a team with the same skill positions that this team has. Most obviously at the QB position...

How can you attend the University of Michigan and root for another football team? Not ragging you, I just cant even imagine...

Generations of family at Notre Dame. Grew up a fan. Never stopped. Tried to pull for UM but never worked, made me a bigger ND fan. UM had great program for what I wanted and is a great institution. But being in undergrad and watching Forcier beat us on last play at Big House took away any chance of me not rooting for ND.

I am curious as well... any university...

I can relate to that. I grew up an ND fan and had immediate family that went there, but ended up going to Purdue myself. ND doesn't have my major, but Purdue does (Construction Management - one of the best programs, I might add) so that influenced my decision significantly. But, why couldn't a person be true to their roots/family and still support ND?

Yeah I'm not sure I understand what you are arguing with the defense...I said it all comes down to executing the gameplan to beat michigan. That game plan is: stop Denard. Period. We have executed our defensive plans perfectly so far this season, so I'm expecting we do so again this week...only time will tell, though.

We haven't played a team with a Denard qb, but at the other skill positions we have played against better talent...Purdue receivers are better as a group than UM and Bell is better than any back at UM. We have stuffed the triple option, beat a team with speedy skill players, dominated one of the best power rushers in the country...yeah, the only wild card is Denard. Can we stop him?

Our front 3 or 4 will most definitely create pressure. We proved that we can create pressure against a talented o-line at MSU. We won't need to blitz to get pressure, but I wouldn't rule out a few CB blitzes and maybe one or two with Manti coming up the middle. If we can contain Denard and keep him in the pocket, we will get to him and shut down the UM offense.
