RT @KeithArnoldNBC: Nice work @NDatRivals on the ACC scoop. You know you've hit the big time when ESPN is calling you "sources."

Just heard on Mike and Mike that FB will play 5 games per year VS ACC opponents, but will remain independent. I think I'm OK with this. We play 3 this year. I'd be OK with losing Pitt, but not sure I like potentially giving up traditional B10 or P12 teams.

Yup, you drop Pitt and likely 1 Big Ten team and add two of FSU, Duke, UVA, Georgia Tech, Maryland, etc.

It's a great long term move.

If this is truly all sports other than football, I don't mind. However, if football would eventually follow, I would prefer the Big 12.

I curious on what this means for scheduling some ACC games each year. I wouldn't mind seeing ND play BC / Pitt / VT / NCSU in a given year. Would love to see them rotate around and play one of VT / Clemson / FSU each year.

It is being reported that we will play 5 ACC football games annually. Makes you wonder who we will drop in football?

I also wonder if ND is getting some bowl game tie-ins. The BE shot themselves in the foot on that issue.

We already play 4 ACC teams (one future acc in pitt) this yr, so it really wont be much of a change. I would love to go to a game in Blackburg!

I just read that each acc school is guaranteed one game vs us every three years.

My guess would be we keep the yearly rivalry with BC & Pitt and rotate other 3 games. Could perhaps play Wake yearly as well, although I don't think that is the biggest priority.

Love it. I'd love to do Miami / FSU rotating, BC / Duke rotating, VT / Virginia Rotating, NC / NC St rotating, Wake / Maryland rotating, Clemson / GT rotating.

Then
1 Armed Services
2 Big Ten
2 P12
1 Big12
1 SEC

I hate to drop Purwho, but I'd leave UM and MSt. Maybe Keep UM and rotate other Big10 into the second spot. I do the same with the Pac12. Keep USC, rotate others into the second spot.

I wonder if the ACC teams have to play ND? Not sure every school wants to add ND to their slate if they can play some directional school and get an easy win. It will be interesting to see how the agreement is worked out.

The ACC also announces the exit fee will be $50 million. That also assures the league no one can poach Miami, VT, or FSU. Big day for ACC

....I'm a happy camper.

I say keep Purdue and ditch the 2nd Pac team.

I like this move even more than a Big 12 move. I grew up in South Bend and the surrounding area for the first 25 years of my life and have now lived in Oklahoma for almost 10 years. I just do not see Notre Dame as a "cultural" fit in the Big 12. Obviously there much more significant matters to consider, but I have been a outsider ever since I moved here (northerner, Notre Dame fan).

Beyond the cultural issue, I think the academic fit is much better in the ACC as well. Not to mention the ACC is not a chump in Football like the Big East (though not amazing either). Obviously the Big 12 is superior in Football in my opinion, but alone does not justify a move there when we are still maintaining our Football independence.

I like the move. Good job Jack!

I commend Jack for his patience. It must be a nightmare to deal with the realignment rumors every few months as AD at ND.
