I have a feeling he will have a couple more leaders before he makes his decision. Im not sure this kid knows what he wants right now and thats perfectly fine.

would not doubt it the kid committed to Tennessee before ever stepping foot on campus. I wonder what role his parents will play in his decision.

Just an assumption considering his brother is weaker academically and on the field. If I remember reading correctly, his brother can't get in ND. I'm sure his brother gets more attention from Boise than Alabama...
His brother could not get into FSU either I am not sure what schools his brother could get into.

I could be wrong here, but Boise have horrific numbers as far as graduation rate goes for the football team (Based on what I remember from Wisker's fantastic charts). I am sure their standards reflect on that. Hence my assumption that Boise might take his brother. Again, I am just trying to make sense on why Boise is in there.

Boise state defensive back coach was Tampa Bay (NFL) defensive back coach a year ago. MA likes that NFL pedigree I guess.

Moving away from home is one of the more important experiences of college, at least I think so. Of course not everybody agrees but it forces a degree of independence. Makes one see their priorities a little clearer.

It's not like you never go home

I have heard two reasons for FSU cooling on Mackenro, was it because as was stated earlier, it was clear his commitment would not guarantee Mackensie, or was it because he could not qualify academically? Anyone have a fix on that situation?

FSU thing pissed off Mac and his family. Miami hasn't really offered. They took Mackenro thinking Mac would commit than dropped him. If he stays in state hes going to Florida. According to multiple reports Mack almost committed to ND and I think he wants to come here but I really don't think he will. I would go bonkers for Mackensie coming but I don't see it happening. Hope i am wrong.

Thanks. So more than likely it had more to do with not getting MA, than it did with Mackenro not qualifying academically. Sure hope MA is ready to challenge himself in more ways than football. As some have said before, and as it was for me, leaving home is a big part of the college experience...invaluable.

I heard they never actually took Mackenro's commitment because of his grades. Awhile back he said if he stayed in state he would go to Florida (I think Florida is the only school his parents have visited could be wrong) but things have changed since then. Florida has slowed down their contact with Mackensie. He said just a few days ago the he would probably visit Florida Miami & FSU this fall. The kid is all over the place.

Kids from Immokalee don't what?

Kids from Immokalee don't what?

Wiselet Rouzard played on Immokalee's 2004 state championship football team. He was the Indians defensive captain. Graduating in the top of his class, Wiselet accepted an academic scholarship to the University of Nevada. At this year's Republican National Convention, Wiselet was a Nevada delegate, representing Ron Paul. From Immokalee to Nevada to the Tampa RNC,? It seems to me that Immokalee to South Bend is a much shorter trek, and a very real possibility for Mackensie!

They sent 3 guys to UNLV that year.

We've been his favorite since his visit if you guys didn't pick up on that.

For someone who you think will have lots of different leaders, we've been on the top of his board for a while. (Going on 3 months)

Speaking for myself, I was under the impression that it is not so much that he has had multiple leaders, but that he has kept a pretty tight lid on things. His brother is more vocal.

As far as Mac, from what I gather he tried to commit to FSU a while back. Rivals ran with it before it was official through the school, and the Alexander's had hurt feelings when he didn't check out. Unconquered board says that it was no fault of FSU, and that it was a misunderstanding, fwiw. The general opinion on the FSU board is that he goes to UF, FSU or Clemson. Again, take that with a grain of salt.

MacKensie didn't try to commit to FSU. His brother, Mackenro did.

He does keep a tight lid on his recruitment but when he does talk, he has always had ND up top.

Mack said hes not going to FSU at all than said he was still interested in them. It was one of the craziest recruiting articles i have ever read.

Gotcha. I've seen Mackensie referred to as Mac before. Let's just call each by their full name from now on, shall we?

Sure bro you got it. I see the confusion, my b. It's P-A-N-M, there's a silent N.

Yeah man. I would be ecstatic if we got Mackensie. Unfortunately I agree it's a long shot. I'm glad to see we are listed #1 though.

Boise?? C'mon... really?!? Smells like he's trollin.

If he has us as his "clear-cut" #1, I don't see how you can think it would be a long shot for him to sign with ND. Yeah it's a long way before NSD and people change there mind, but right now we are his top choice. That doesn't sound like a long shot to me.

Just need to follow recruiting and his recruitment a little closer. It would take me an hour to explain this.

Whoever gets the official visit during the season would seem to have a tremendous advantage. I'm hoping he picks ND, if we truly lead, you would think he would want to experience the game day atmosphere. Given the fact that he spent some extended time on campus, do we even know for sure he will take an official to ND? Below is a news article that came out yesterday.
Recruiting: Immokalee teammates heavily recruited | The News-Press | news-press.com
Immokalee cornerback Mackensie Alexander is one of the most heavily recruited players in the state.

He is also a prospect that is taking things slowly.

“I am just staying in contact with a bunch of schools, watching them play as much as possible, and trying to figure out where I will take official visits,” said Alexander, whose Indians traveled to Central Florida and earned a solid win over Sanford Seminole Friday night.

“I want to help the team early and play and am looking for an aggressive defense. Clemson, Notre Dame, Alabama, FSU, Miami, Ole Miss, Kentucky, and Wisconsin are the schools I am in contact with the most. I might be able to take one official visit during our off-week, but the rest will come after the season and I hope this season lasts until the late December (with the state championships).”

Alexander is the No. 4 cornerback in the country according to Scout.com, No. 7 CB according to Rivals, and the No. 2 CB (sixth overall prospect) according to ESPN.

A lot of commits will be coming to the banquet after the season on their official visit. If he goes to Clemson on his official during the season, as long as he doesn't pull the trigger and then shut the process down for good it may not be the worst thing in the world for him to come out closer to NSD. Although it would be nice for him to see gameday in South Bend.

He left Boise off that list. And he keeps mentioning FSU even though they pissed off the Alexander family. And in the interview he did a few days ago for the Clemson Rivals site, he didn't have rave reviews for Kentucky.

Seems like the schools that he consistently mentions (ND, Bama, Clemson, Ole Miss, Wisconsin) are the big players. Miami, Boise, FSU, Florida, Kentucky are all on the outside. The kid really does a good job of looking at what D coordinators move where and how the depth chart looks for playing time.

In that Clemson interview, he stated outright that Clemson was offering him early playing time but he noticed they would have returning seniors at CB and didn't play aggressively enough for him. He's pretty observant and diligent about his recruitment.

When is his week-off and does it match up with an ND home game?
