But looking at the little "hint" they give us, we still are representing Our Lady because it looks like the golden dome will be on the helmet to me
^ This.
If it's a white helmet with some form of the Dome, really what's the difference---especially for one game?
Imagine taking someone who knows nothing about football or Notre Dame to the game:
"Ugh, the white helmets are terrible...we're supposed to wear gold helmets to represent the Dome on campus and Our Lady."
"But the Dome is on the helmet, still representing Our Lady."
"Yeah, well...it only counts if it's a plain gold helmet. A logo of the Dome doesn't honor anything."
"Why not?"
.....?
Who knows what the helmet will look like. Maybe it is just a gold helmet with a stripe through the middle. But if it is white with the dome in gold, I don't understand the outrage for one game.
I'm not saying anyone has to like it, heck I might not like it, but to be outraged? For one game? It's absurd.
