Wonder if pops talked him out of USC/revealed how slimy their coaches are? Also, hopefully Holtz neg recruits the non ND schools like his dad did to steer Moss to FSU (if not USF my alma mater is great sort of thing).

“@VHargreaves24: Top 5 ) 1.Florida 2.Clemson 3.Vanderbilt 4.Miami 5.Notre Dame , USF is not in my top 5 but still considering !”

The favorites are missing.....

WOAH... suddenly the OV is looking better

But its basically a top 6 (with USF).

It looks like we are 5th though.

USC must have told him they are full- weird? Another CB commit coming soon?

No USC, no OSU. LOVE that. Still not overly optimistic (we could be in there to placate Pops or because of Alford [as with Brian Poole last year]) but still, that feels good.

Isn't Hargreaves the "Player to be named later" in the Aaron Lynch trade?

I got a nagging feeling that ND is just thrown in there at the end to appease Dad. No info just a feeling.

Well, his tweet from Monday about how Pops was more excited about the visit to ND than VHIII might support your theory. Who knows though ... with Alford I feel like we always have a chance.

Hopefully Florida goes 6-6, Clemson under performs like all the years before last, we destroy the U and they get sanctions, and Vandy stays well Vandy.

Also I'd have to think getting Sherit would help.

"I'm going to wait a few months before setting my official visits. I want to watch these teams and see how they do in their seasons. It's important to me what they do on the field."

VHIII per 247. The pressure is on ...

Smart strategy with those schools, too. All are kind of an unknown quantity right now in terms of the strength of their football programs.

As long as he doesn't go to SC, I don't care where he goes. Highly highly doubt it's ND.

Yeah, but you really don't know what context he said that in. Could have meant he graded the visit a 100% but his dad graded it 120%.

I'm glad he's visiting, it can only help our chances.

So winning games is important? Ya don't say.

wow well that top 5 surprises me...

I guess if we get an OV we'll have a decent chance.

Still think its gonna be hard to pull from Florida/Clemson

I guess it's nice to be 5 at this point, ND unfortunately is the school that's not like the others. I don't see it happening unless he has a magical visit. The fact that Vandy is number 3, pretty much sums up the fact that pulling him from the south will be near impossible.

Or that academics is a serious factor for him, which should work in our favor once he realizes he can have both academics and a big football stage at ND.
But I wouldn't read too much into any of it. This guy's gonna take his time.

He called the USC coaches and told them thanks but no thanks b/c of the distance, per USC Rivals. It was NOT a #'s issue, nor was it USC dropping him, like some of their fans were already trying to say. Their mod thinks he's going to Miami, and their mod is really good with these things, fwiw.

You have to think eventually the hammer will get dropped on Miami. Just don't know if it will be soon enough to make a difference in his recruitment.
