OK...been going back over the thread...other than the OP and the 4HL start is their any evidence anywhere that this is something that is actually trying to come about?

If he clears it then hopefully he might comeback. I don't wanna be a dick but how do you not get a 41 combined on the ACT if his GPA was truely a 3.4. or a 52 combined ACT score if his GPA was a 3.000

Isn't the ACT out of 36? It was when I took it in '04.

Text from my friend: "I have news on Tee. My friend who lived next to him texted him. He left ND because he didn't have the right classes and wasn't cleared by the NCAA. He has been taking online classes and applied to NCAA clearing house again. He wants to be back at ND. He loved it"

I'm rooting for him. Would love to have him back at ND!

So he has to get past the NCAA Clearing house

Then get past Kelly (assume that's not an issue since he genuinely seemed to wish him well)

Then get past Notre Dame admissions.

Still a tough road....

(I'll bet those 4am tweets are history)

Generally, ND doesn't accept online course credits... ???

The way I read it is he was already accepted by ND. But not cleared by the NCAA. Online courses would be to fulfill NCAA requirements, not ND admissions.

As in he may commit to USC?

There were major rumors that he and Goodman were going to commit to UCLA together, but that hasn't happened yet and I doubt it will happen any time soon. Priest keeps saying he wants to wait (which he should if he's not sure - a guy that good doesn't need to secure a spot), but with coaches putting so much pressure on guys to commit early, it's hard to wait that long...

So, he was cleared by ND admissions but not the NCAA Clearinghouse? I thought you had to be past the Clearinghouse first?

Somebody help my poor, feeble mind.

Idk. It was Bob Eliott who told me face to face that it was an issue of exam score for Tee. Perhaps Tee's admission to ND was pending on an exam score, and when it came out he did not even pass NCAA clearinghouse, it eventually became a ND issue of admissions as well.

I'm not going to speculate what he will have to do to get back. He wants to be back at ND and hopefully will do what it takes to get back.

I am excited for more details to come out.

I was told by multiple ppl that it his act score as well. But what if he failed to meet criteria on both his act and his classes... And now all he needs to fix are his classes?

Correct me if I am wrong, but I think the requirements to play NCAA athletics are less stringent going the JUCO route for 1 year vs straight out of HS. Lets face it, the first quarter or semester of most any college is a big adjustment. Maybe he is taking some requirements at the JUCO before fall camp at ND??????

Theres more than a ACT/course schedule.

If it was that easy

1. He would have never enrolled early and Tee would come in the summer with all the other freshmen.

2. ND is obviously academics first....they wouldn't mess a course load up so bad he would have to leave and go to a juco.

3. Do you think it was a concidence that Greenberry switched on signing day as well as Tee isn't at ND?

These things aren't overlooked by the clearing house nor ND, bc there is too much on the line for them to be overlooked. Prime example : ND/any other school/NCAA isn't going to be responsible for any kid missing essentially 2 years of football. Tee committed almost a year before signing day so that is plenty of time to make sure that hes transcripts/grades/classes/test scores/etc are in order. Make sense?

The only thing I am going on is the premium that was posted. Stated Tee was in fact working on getting back to ND, just had to clear somethings up as far as classwork. To what extent? Who knows. Just said he was confident he would get that taken care of.

Really hope this blows up one day and he is back and eligible for this fall! Might be high hopes but I am not scared to be let down.

Everything there makes sense. It's a confusing situation. Just thought I'd pass along that text.

Things do get overlooked. It may be as simple as some have described it. Maybe it is the way you describe it but it most certainly can get overlooked. These things are still run by humans. Tee transferred high schools; something most certainly could have been lost in translation. The problem is that nobody actually knows except for a select handful of people. Everything else is pure speculation.

To the extent a player graduates high school early...gets into Notre Dame of all places...then leaves....doubt it.

(I'll bet those 4am tweets are history)

One thing about this. The 4am tweets seem to come up a lot, but to me 4 am isn't necessarily that late when you are in college ... I mean, when I was in college, there were numerous semesters where my first class was at 10:40, so my normal schedule was to go to class in the morning/afternoon, do errands/laundry/work out, go to dinner, then read till I was too tired to read any more, which was usually about 4 am. Then I'd go to bed, get a solid 6 hours of shuteye and get up the next day at 10am for my 10:40 class. So I don't know if its fair to assume that just because Tee was up till 4am that he was slacking. Now he may in fact have been slacking--it sounds like he never went to class, and that's definitely a reason to assume he is slacking--but I'm just saying that kids at ND are sometimes up till 4am because they are working hard, not because they are slacking.

The situation is definitely puzzling though. How could we have let him EE if he didn't have the classes he needed and/or the ACT score he needed? I would have expected our admissions people to be more cautious than that. There just has to be more to the story, but for now I'm definitely taking it as an encouraging sign that Tee himself as well as people on ND's campus are saying that he is trying to come back to ND.
