ND extended an offer today at the Blue and Gold game per 24/7.

This might come down to if he wants to play with his hand on the ground or not. Most of those other teams offering run the 4-3.

Last year he had 12.5 sacks. I watched some film but it wasn't that clear.

Saw this bit on 247:

Named First Team All-State as a junior after racking up a school-record 12.5 sacks at defensive end. Was part of the 4x100 relay team that qualified for the state track meet as a sophomore.

Think of this kid like an Ishaq Williams. Tall and able to put on more weight, fast and athletic.

you gotta wonder what the hell Oregon is doing with Christian French, hes 3rd string TE there and would probably start at OLB for half the teams in Division 1 :p

if that's the case looks like he made a great decision.......(considering if he picked Oregon for football and to play OLB)

He was a freshman. Oregon doesn't strike me as a team that wastes their talent. They seem to know what they're doing.

I go to high school at Brookfield Central, the rival school across town from Brookfield East where he played. I'm honestly surprised about this offer, never noticed anyone on their defense standing out...
Unfortunately I don't know a ton of people in his year, I'm currently a senior, but I'll talk to my friends across town and see what I can find out.

Everyone I talk to says he doesn't talk about recruiting much. Either I have the wrong friends or he's playing it pretty close to the vest...
Wish there was more info!

Per 247 Wisco leads and ND 3rd after visits to both schools this week. I.e. he isn't coming here.

Sapp mentioned off-handedly in a post that James has become a lower priority since we got Mattingly.

That surprised me a little. I saw them as very different players.

I'm not high on this kid. I wish him luck and all, but I just don't see the justification of even taking him in this class.
