We have a great shot at landing him but to say we lead is premature.

We dont lead. There about seven schools have a equal chance in this. If i had to guess Miami leads. Kid doesn't talk so thats why no one has a clear picture on his recruitment.

Mackensie had said he is no longer considering Miami and that IF he was to stay in state it would be between UF andFSU

Your right i do remember reading that. But i know he wants to play with his brother. I still think Miami and FSU are in great position. We are in the top group just very hard to get a read on his recruitment.

When did he say that?

Volnation had something about it around the 7th of June and evidently it came from 247.

Evidently Miami ticked him off. I have no clue if it's true or not, but posters were saying supposedly Miami was going to make him camp in order to get his offer. Who knows if that is true or not.

If he were to make a decision prior to the season I'm guessing it wouldn't be very good for ND?

247 update sounds VERY positive.

Most tight lipped recruit ever. Might commit before his season. Already planning a return trip.

Man... you aren't kidding! This would be an incredible pull that before now only dreamed about. Now it seems like a very legit possibility.

Anyone know if his brother is being recruited and if so what the interest level is on both sides?

FSU would be team to beat IMO, FSU is his brothers best offer and another teammate is a heavy lean there

Jamie Newberg did an interview with Alexander that if he stayed in Florida he would sign with the Gators.

And this is why I always think it's silly when people try to name a "leader" or "team to beat" when there is clearly not enough information out there. At this point you simply have to accept the fact that it is an open race and we're in the top group. Anything is possible.

HOW DARE YOU!
:)

I tried finding something other then this out of respect but I realized, after about 10 seconds of searching for something else, this is probably the best reaction to the news about his visit.

Besides, how funny is it.

I dunno. Call me a skeptic. Great as it'd be if he commits to us this summer, this one won't be over until February.

@RivalsCNee: Another unconfirmed attendee at #Miami this morning for camp - Rivals100 CB Mackensie Alexander. The four-star most recently visited #ND.

It doesn't sound like much but there is a guy from InsidetheCanes that goes to HS with Mackensie that claims that the whole reason he cooled on Miami is that he actually didn't have an offer because their staff told him they wanted him to camp there first. Just interesting.

I hope I don't get nuked.

Hopefully it was just an insider like this.

Seriously though, it's going to be tough to follow and gauge his recruitment because of how close to the vest he plays it. In my interpretation, the fact that he handles his recruitment pretty maturely seems to bode well for him seriously considering ND, unlike the Ryan Green recruitment where the ND interest didn't seem legitimate after he named a new leader after seemingly every visit. It's going to be tremendously difficult to pull an elite kid out of Florida, but if there was anyone on the staff I would want to be handling it, it's Alford. He got the kid to even visit in the first place.
