Betting his thought was Anzalone. IMO it's going to be a race between Randolph and Anzalone. I'd bet on Anzalone too. VH may shock us all though, but that's my my fantasy gut feeling.

Dude if we get Hargreaves, this place is gonna explode! I hope your gut is right!

Nice month so far for the Irish and we're only 7 days in. Staff is killin it right now. Defensive side of the ball has started to come together.

“I’m going to try and articulate this because the majority of people don’t get this,” Steve Rochell told Irish Illustrated. “The reason Isaac likes Notre Dame is because Notre Dame really gets Isaac. In other words, Georgia or Florida, they only see Isaac, and he knows this, they see him as a football player. As a number. You know what I’m saying?

“They don’t see him as a whole person. And there’s a lot more to Isaac than just playing football. Isaac likes Notre Dame because he knows Notre Dame really understands him.”

Love it, love it, love it! We need to remember this next time we are tempted to scorn ND's religious character and try make ND into the University of Everywhere Else. Neither Jaylon nor Isaac would have been interested.

I've always found it ironic how the same people who are obsessed with open-mindedness are often the same people that can't stand the idea that other actually people actually think differently about things and may actually disagree with the prevailing wisdom from time to time.

Love thee, Notre Dame!!!

excellent pick up.. can't wait for the future of ND football once we have an established QB to pair with these monsters we're hauling on the defensive side of the ball

That quote by Isaac's father is what pulls me toward this school. You keep hearing things like that from the kids that are committing as well as their family members. How can you not pull for kids like this!? Such a great day! Yes! Just YES!

Seems like more commits than usual bringing on the full scale assault on the football factories lack of character/treating like a number/ untrustwothhy, etc. We say it all the time on here but I don't remember it being articulated by players and parents like we are hearing this year.

Awesome get! Welcome to ND!

That is because when you hollow yourself out, all you have is a shell, shell of a human, shelll of a program . . . And after years, that shell, which is made up of organic material, becomes brittle, when a shell of a man, or a shell of a program's brittle shell starts to crumble, you have nothing . . .

Except in Alabama's case. You still gots good hair!

This encourages me. It will only help ND when recruits and their families start to wise up to the football factory snake oil pitch.

I would not be surprised that this "phenomenon" is another of the myriad impacts of Brian Kelly. Kelly will have thought a lot about Notre Dame's "systemic advantage" not just in football systems he installs but as a university developer of men as well. Since Kelly never lets any possible leverage slide, I will bet that he has workshopped with his entire staff on our presentation of the whole Notre Dame picture to every recruit.

What Coach and the staff can say to the players and their parents, WITH A STRAIGHT FACE, is unrivaled in college football recruiting IF those families are thoughtful people. I have preached from the beginning that ND can recruit enough super-athletes to get back into the BCS without changing who we are, and that in fact staying who we are is the way to do it.

Our eliteness in character, spirituality, academic excellence IS our "Swag", and we need to overtly use it and brag about it. We need to find only about 22 great talents per year who share those values and dreams to be a success. Kelly will do the rest... and we fans supporting and living up to the vision.

i honestly believe w/ the way the media is finally bringing some of the greyshirting issues, oversigning up and not to mention the concusion issues now being a big deal...parents are starting to come around and arn't necessarily banking their kid on making the NFL...also w/ the state of economy and it use to be just get a degree and you will get a good job...it now is who's degree stands out more and what connections you have w/ alumni

@rakesofmallow:

A friend e-mailed this great quote on Isaac Rochell's recruitment this morning:

"He was thrilled with the South Dining Hall and asked how anybody could ever get tired of it." You can't, Isaac! You can't get tired of it!

This is in stark contrast to a recruit's quote about NDH in 2009, when he said - wait, why would you take a recruit to NDH? To lose them?

Isaac loved the South Dining Hall. He's gonna stick.
