Congratulations to Malik getting recognized as one of the "Elite" of college football!!! This is not only great news for Malik, but should really help ND build this recruit those last couple of skill players that the offense needs.

Agreed, good piece. Liked this part especially:

That would indeed make him a perfect quarterback for Kelly's system. Sure, the skills are just as important, but intelligence and leadership are two huge calling cards that BK has been waiting for any QB to step up and take. It ties into turnovers, it ties into momentum, it ties into consistency; all those things come are furthered by intelligence and leadership. Can't wait to get this kid on campus. Hopefully by that point he's following in the footsteps of a couple other stud QBs at ND.

Yeah he is a great kid and does a lot of things great by example! He is not a vocal take charge of the team leader even by his own testaments there captain sarcasm! This team needs someone who keeps everyone together in the locker room, in school, and on the field. That is in no way a dig at Manti, but I don't see that being the case. I think this class is such that a leader will emerge and take charge of his team, and if I'm right there will be a couple top 5 finishes, maybe even a crystal football in ND's future, if I'm wrong we will be whinning over another 8-5 season.

Some lead vocally, some lead by example. Manti is the latter. That said, the offense could definitely use a leader on and/or off the field.

Just watched the highlights and wow.
He is really fast!
And watch the second play, I think that is a triple option run that he decides to pass on because he sees a guy wide open. That means that he has to watch that as well as run the option if that guy isn't open. If so, this kid is gonna be really special(even if I am wrong about that play I think he will be special)!
