Got the pick and the score right on my Yahoo pool but would have been happy with MX advancing. It would have been better for the US, Greece, and Germany and the grander scheme of things. Also better for concacaf

I love how ESPN is trying to make this a controversy... The only controversy would have been Mexico winning and the no calls on Robben in the first half...

Robben is such a bitch. Phenomenal player but he dives more than any South American, and that's saying A LOT. Both teams deserved a penalty in the first half, so that's moot IMHO.

That last foul...I'm incredibly happy that it was Marquez cause of his supreme douchiness, but disappointed for CONCACAF that he was stupid enough to lunge and that Robben got away with making a complete meal of just tiny contact. It was a very soft penalty, but a penalty nonetheless bc of Rafa's stupidity (who on earth DOESN'T know that Robben is going to cut in to his left???).

Robben is so crafty. His dives are award winning, LOL. In the end, he plays his balls off. I'll take him on my team.

I just thank the good Lord that he isn't dead. I thought for sure a Mexico fan shot him at the same time Marquez stepped on his foot, the way he screamed, flailed his arms and went down. When the paramedics didn't come out, I said a little prayer of thanks that a player wasn't shot on the field (I've said the same prayer several times when watching my man Iniesta lol).

Seriously, great player, awful flopper (puts Suarez to shame), bad human being, and today, a winner.

Why can't refs give cards for extreme flopping or can they? I'd like these guys to start getting some medicine for this behavior.

I didn't even think there was people questioning this.

It was a clear foul. It was also greatly embellished by Robben. End of story. The officiating was very poor. Robben should have had a penalty in the first half. Mexico possibly as well, although that one was a lot more questionable.

Costa Rica's keeper is a brick wall.
