If ND lands some of these guys, with the competition they’re facing, they’ve definitely adjusted their NIL strategy.

Sorry I screwed up and posted in the “who’s next 2026” thread. What has to happen for the 2025 class to end up a top 5 class? How much would Deuce being a 5 star help?

There’s a few guys on here that are good with the rankings calculator.

If I had to guess, they’d need to keep everyone in the fold and hope some the guys get a rankings bump. They’d also need to land Meadows, Faraimo, NOB, and Blair.

OSU and Bama to have 5 loss seasons - which I am predicting. Actually 7 losses for Bama

When you mess with the calculator, does it also give you the more important APR?

All these years and I've never played with that thing somehow.

Amazing that even with the expected class ND might get, it's still struggling with a top 5 finish? Man, I like their guys alot too.

I see Bama having more loses than OSU this year, but ND needs to win on the field to win in recruiting.

If ND gets Meadows, Hines, Robinson, NOB, Faraimo, Blair, and keeps Taylor, AND the rankings remain the same for everyone, then ND will have a 247 composite score of 287.60. That would equate to an average 5th ranked class (when put against the last 20 years), but a 6th ranked class if you average just the last 5 years. See the table below

If Deuce was made a 5-star, then that would add roughly 2.00 points to the score, making the class score 289.60 an average 4th ranked (20-yr avg) or 5th ranked (5-yr avg) class.

It does not, but adding the above 6 and keeping Taylor would result in a APR of 91.65. This would be ahead of last year's class, and behind his first two.

APR is still in the 91's. Need 93's. If they remain @ 91.5's they need:

1. A Deshaun Watson level QB

2. Great defensive with elite DL and Corner play

3. Way above avg to elite development from the staff across the board.

- They've had the individual pieces on D during the Freeman era) and have statistically been there as a group

- This group recruited and began development of many of the key pieces of Cincy's improbable run to the playoffs.

- The Watson level QB? That's on Denbrock / Gino to get one of these guys to that level during a year where Golden/Mickens D is clicking.

Once we actually start landing some of these ELITE level DL guys, along with continuing to build the athleticism and speed in the back 7 the roster will be fine.

Really surprised that the class doesn’t grade higher. I really like the class. I consider Black and Deuce 5 stars as others have them rated as such. I do think there are some questionable takes at the bottom half but I trust this staff with player development

Cross and Mills weren't elite, can you win a title with them if everything else is clicking?

You’ve got to maintain the level of development we’ve had, but in recent years it has not been the DL that’s held us back (so much as, like, the whole offense).

And 2026 will stop all of this handwringing. Outside of JJ Finch getting screwed out of a 4* rating, I can't see anyone ND's Top 10 Most Likely DL's that won't be 4*-5*. One or two will commit a month from today.

I’m excited about the position Notre Dame has put themselves in for 2026 d-linemen.

Who do you think commits? And why a month from today?

I think the class rating will get higher as we get into the season. There are several I expect bumps in the rating from

Actually a month from yesterday is the BBQ (Grill & Chill?)

I'm going for Elijah Golden or Rodney Dunham and one of the 3 Chicago guys, Jones, Blades or Hill. Hopefully Blades.

I don’t see Golden popping that early. He mentioned in a recent interview with Ryan Roberts that he’ll make a decision sometime before his senior season. Golden is just starting to rack in some serious offers and take visits - going to be a little longer wait for him.
