So @CanadalovesND sent me an Intel piece on WR recruiting and with Hines, Meadows and Robinson all the teams we are competing against are negatively recruiting the same talking tracks. What has ND done with WR under MF and who have we sent to the league recently. We were the favorites for all three so everyone was focused on selling against ND.
When these kids are hearing this again and again it starts resonating with them.
If we don't get Meadows commitment in July the staff is not going to stop recruiting him. We will have a chance at a flip if we change the narrative during the season and our WR ball out this year like they should. I think this will go beyond Meadows too, kids want/need to see on the field results. Just look at our secondary recruiting and why it's been so successful.
What have you done for me lately - Top secondary recruit decommitted

Freeman hiring Parker and NOT going hard at the portal for WRs for 2023 is hurting ND still. I get that the injuries didn't help last year, but we didn't have any really good WRs or experience going into the season. The darn staff couldn't even realize who our top WR was until the end of the season when every media member called it out in fall camp (talking Faison). Tobias looked terrible in fall camp per everyone, yet he got all the PT. Even I wanted it to work out, but when someone is shredding the D and another can't get open, it should be obvious.

It's interesting that Georgia is having a similar issue at WR. They are recruiting it better than ND, but it's probably their weakest area recruiting, and it's probably their weakest area under Kirby involving NFL players (that and QB).

It’s not only important to win these recruiting battles but then they have to hit. Getting these guys and then having them go Tobias on us is just as bad, if not worse. It would be great to see another Michael Floyd walk through.

Floyd is once a decade type player (how good he was in college), but you'd like to have someone on the roster at all times that has the ability to dominate a college DB like a claypool or fuller. Maybe cam williams can become that. It's probably not anyone on our roster of upper classmen.

I think some people just need to unplug for few weeks. Maybe turn off your phones, go to the lake with your family, drink a couple beers, throw a pigskin around, drive some golf balls into a lake, wrestle some burrs and check back in a month or two.

Unfortunately I think a lot of us need to quit reading the pay sites and only go back to being fans of the program.

You can’t count on anything and that’s after they have signed the line.

Different world anymore.

Has there been anything with the WR from fishers that committed to Stanford?

I thought about him as a DT as well. Especially with all the talk about how ND can't attract 300lbs interior d-lineman. Why not try the Tillery approach and take OL guys that could play DT.

I don't think Herron is big enough to play anywhere on the O-line. His quick feet and long arms make him a good candidate for DT.

Cooper is likely this week.

Faraimo seems ready to pop whenever.

Not saying I feel this way, but the recent puff piece Loy put together on all the different team insiders had most/all pointing NOB to ND.

Wiggins is visiting for FSU game (same as NOB).

That leaves:
- Is there room for Mizell if they have 3/4 WR already (pending Bettis position)
- Do they continue to pursue the TE from PA, Andrew Olesh, a scUM commit
- Does anything come of the Meadows chit chat
- With +20 scholarships next year, do they recruit any specialists or preferred walk ons or just go HAM in portal extending from the necessary 8-10 to 15ish
- And any other surprise names in the next 2-3 months? Old ones like Taylor or new offers.
