Yep, it's always important to distinguish between the need for upgraded talent or numbers, because in recruiting they are completely different things. WDE falls into the category of wanting to upgrade talent, which is virtually always true. However, it's not a position, like CB, that needs numbers. The difference is, you go all out for prospects that upgrade the talent and if you miss, you might just pass altogether. Where CB, you need bodies, almost, regardless of talent level.

And as fast as Porter is, until I see someone be able to shift into O/D while tracking the ball in the air like Fuller could, I won't make that comparison. Rocket was faster than Fuller but Fuller's speed while the ball was in the air was a very unique and probably more functional talent. There really was no answer for it.

If we landed him, I highly doubt we'd take another guard.

We'd just see if we could get one of the 2 OTs we're after: NPF or WG.

They won't know if Salyer wants in till NSD2 I bet so Taki would already be on board. ND's not gonna bounce him on NSD2.

Plus, I have a feeling HH sees him as the OC only. Dudes just 6-2 in cleats.

They changed that up on his visit. Went over it with him and he's now a OG/C prospect for us.

Up next Austin on the 11th. As of today, it sounds like getting Austin would push ND to #5 in the team rankings. Currently sitting at #7 with Lamb's commitment.

As to CB I think they will spend the fall evaluating kids. There are always kids who make big improvements from Jr. to Sr. season. My wish list would be Gordon, Burton and Bracy.

Bracy, Wilkins and Gordon are most likely OV candidates. It sounds like we could really make a move for Wilkins and Bracy with those visits. We'll see

He's got some length.

We should start hearing some more OV dates with season start closing in.

We will have a better idea of who staff is targeting to finish this class off and where/when they expand . We do have an incredible base class heading into season with a real chance to show our new/improved product (hopefully).

Soooo, how are we doing at corner? We just had our 2nd (arguably 1st) biggest recruiting weekend of the year. Still zero corners in 2017 or 2018 class.

Since the beginning of September when the college season started, 33 recruits, OVERALL, have committed to school according to 247.

4 were safeties (all 3 star or below)
4 were ATH (all 3 star or below)
0 were CB

No one has gotten any.
