Very hard to pick one player on this team. It's full of great kids who play with a lot of heart; not to mention being very talented and many times underrated by the ratings services coming in.

I would have to say ... Folston. I am a sucker for great RBs who are deceptively shifty, run north and south, and quietly carry the water for the offense. Folston has emerged as that guy for the Irish and has saved Golson from having to completely carry the team. Folston reminds me of a young Emmitt Smith.

Jaylon.

Got to, we practically grew up together.

By which I mean we're from the same city, of course.

Will Fuller

I would like to add that this was a very difficult choice because there are literally at least 10 guys I could have chosen. Other guys that are just behind Fuller to me are Jaylon, Everett, CRob, Folston, Riggs, Luke, Redfield, Day, Stanley, and Jones. Damn, I love this team!

Everett Golson. He has come back after his suspension and has matured greatly. A phenomenal playmaker that always gives us a fighting chance to win. But I also love everyone of our guys! We have a great football team!

Jaylon because he was a five star/one of the best players in the class and he chose Notre Dame over the easy life. He could have had the girls, cars, and clothes at other schools. Yet he chose the hard school, the difficult program and everything else involved withe Notre Dame.

I get what you are saying but you could say that even more about Max Redfield and players like Folston and Bryant. They not only were highly rated, especially Max, but they came from sunshine states and would have had the easy lifestyle at places like FSU or USC. Max was committed to USC, matter of fact. BUt I do believe Jaylon is a beast and works so damn hard and anyone who picks Jaylon as their favorite isn't wrong. I'm glad we have them all!

Oh I agree, but recruits flock to Jaylon. He is a Mantiespue personality that said he wanted all these things. I remember his announcement. He was legitimately excited to come Notre Dame. I agree about Max as well, as he made the choice but he is the outreach type player that Jaylon is.

Only 4 Joe Schmidt's, I'd have taken the over and lost big.

Hard not to say Riggs, Luke, Schmidt, Day, but --- get ready to groan --- Cam McDaniel [complete sacrifice of self-promoting roles for the good of the team.]

Yeah, the OP said to pick just one so I went with Folston, but I could easily have picked any of Schmidt, Day or Riggs.

While Matthias Farley has been given the cold shoulder by ND fans the last year or so, I would like to point out that after being recruited to ND as a WR, he made a transition to S for the 2012 team that went to the title game. Despite a rough year last year, for several players at that, he still managed the 2nd most tackles from the secondary position and also gathered 2 INTs. He also has 2 INTs this season while playing a 'newer' position in the slot.

The guy deserves more credit then he is given and while he may not be a highlight reel like Jaylon or Tarean or a feel good story like Joe Schmidt or a comeback player like Everett, he does deserve a tad bit more recognition in my book.

For that, he gets the love from me.
